Chapter 3

“Hold the elevator! Hold the elevator!” I yelled like a crazy woman to the guy inside. Thankfully he complied and pulled out his hand to stop the elevator doors from shutting right in my face. Stepping in, I blow out a sigh of relief, smiling kindly to guy standing next to me. “Thank you, I’m just really late and it’s my first day and there was this guy at Starbucks---“My nervous rambling was cut off by Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome standing by me. “It’s ok, first day, huh? You must be Mr. Walker’s new PA. I’m Evan, I manage the accounts.”

“Oh hi, I’m Angela; well you can call me Angie, or Ang, or whatever doesn’t really matter.” I bite my lip to stop myself from all this word vomit coming out.

He gives me his cute lopsided smile as the elevator dings “I’ll see you around Angie.” And with that he leaves the elevator.

Calming my nerves down, I get out of the elevator on the next floor up. I straighten out my skirt and pat down my blushing red cheeks. I stop when I see the lady who interviewed me by the receptionist desk. “Good Morning Ms. Collins. I’m glad to see you here, but you’re a little late. You’re lucky the new boss was getting himself situated otherwise the old Mr. Walker would have you sent home when the clock hit 9:01.”

“I’m so sorry Linda, this morning was hectic. What do you mean the new boss, I though Greg Walker was the CEO of the company?”

“Yes, well the reason you were hired was because Mr. Walker took on early retirement and passed on his business to his son, Nick Walker. Therefore, you are now his sons Personal Assistant. Now you best get going, I heard his son doesn’t approve of tardiness as well. His office is the last one down the corridor and yours is right across from it. Good Luck!”

When I reached my office I put my stuff down and started making my way towards Mr. Walker’s office. I clench my hands in attempt to stop them from shaking. When I get there I reach out my small fist and knock on his door. After a few long seconds I hear a deep voice saying I could enter.

With my head down shyly I announce myself “Good Morning Mr. Walker, My name is Angela Collins, I’ll be your new personal assistant. Please let me know if I can help you with anything.”

“Wow, I could have sworn this morning you could talk someone’s ear off with all your ranting, but I guess you finally got your morning fix.” My eyes widen in confusion. My head snaps up to meet the same egoistical, arrogant prick that cut in line at the coffee shop. Quickly realizing that I snapped at my boss this morning I open my mouth ready to apologize, but he beats me to it. “Well let’s get started, Ms. Collins would you mind going through all my father’s old files and refiling them and updating our database. He probably kept the system exactly the same since he first started the company in the 60’s.” I watched him still standing there awe-stricken and surprised that he still hasn’t fired me for what I said to him.

“Earth the Angela.” He snaps his fingers in front of my face, “I know I’m hard to resist, but staring at my dreamy face all day will get you nowhere in your work, so chop chop, those files won’t refile themselves..” He stated as he gently pushed me out of his office.

Why did I have to have such an over confident, egoistical and self-centered boss and why did he have to be so freaking sexy??
