Just dropping by with a little Christmas-y, domestic Keanu, because who doesn't want to spend a lovely day with him? Anyways, I won't keep you with this for too long, really hope y'all enjoy this one because just writing it gave me fluffy feels.
A/n 2- Can't believe I found a moment on Christmas to post this, but very glad that I did.)
The air held a chill that the artificial heat couldn't quite combat. Y/n pulled the thick duvet up to her chin, turning onto her other side, reaching out, hoping to find Keanu tucked in at her side. Though, much to her disappointment, his spot was empty, his pillow cool, signaling that he had been up for a while. With a quiet huff, Y/n curled up again, glancing at the clock, wondering what could be more important that staying in bed with his wife at seven am on Christmas morning.
Then she heard it, the soft noises coming from the little white contraption on her bed side. Tiny coos and a familiar male voice speaking softly, "Shhh, mama's still asleep." Smiling despite her tire, Y/n sat up a little, bringing the sheets with her as she grabbed the baby monitor with her free hand. They had been sure to chuck out a little extra on the kind with the screens; anything for their little one. Sure enough, Keanu stood in the living room, their four month old daughter; Rosie, babbling as her cubby fingers tangled in the ends of his hair. They were in front of the elaborately decked tree, twinkling lights barely visible in the breaking dawn and Keanu gently bounced her in his strong arms, smiling widely when he earned himself little noises of happiness. She certainly had him wrapped around her little finger.
Biting her lower lip, Y/n determined that it might be an absolute crime to not join in on their glee. So, she reluctantly shrugged off the sheets, throwing her robe over her silk night gown, shoving her bare feet into a cozy pair of slippers, hoping to make short work of brushing her teeth and everything else before joining them downstairs.
Rosie's tiny body felt comfortably warm against his chest and her little baby laughs filled his heart with love. Sometimes, especially on days like that one, Keanu would find it hard to believe that he had finally gotten the life he had dreamed about, a lovely wife who adored him and a child who he'd help raise to the best of his ability. It was Rosie's first Christmas, and in an effort to make it one of the best she'd ever have, Y/n and Keanu had ventured to her penthouse in New York, the one she lived in before they married. The snow and festivities seemed much more exciting that the sunny on goings of Los Angeles during that time of the year.
They had arrived a couple weeks before the day, and their flight had been proof that the struggle of travelling with a baby was not understated. Rosalie, affectionately dubbed by her grandmother as Rosie, up until then had been a fairly easy baby; rarely subjecting her parents to loud shrills and infant tantrums, but something about the bustling of LAX and the incessant hum of the plane had put her off, leaving Y/n and Keanu trading turns walking up and down the aisle, between almost a dozen other first class cabins, trying to calm her. And, as if that weren't enough, at first, Rosie seemed to hate the coldness of winter- or at least the many layers that it constituted. But as soon as they had started decorating a week later, and she had gotten a little accustomed to the whole thing, she had gone back to her sweet self.
Smiling as he looked down at her in his arms, Keanu went over to the closed floor to ceiling widow, laughing quietly with she pushed on the cool glass, bright eyes in awe of the falling snow, some of it gathering on the balcony, "You know, your mom got to see this every year for Christmas growing up. She's being seeing snow since she was your age, and she loves it. When you get older, we'll come back and build a snowman. It's going to be perfect Rosie, just like you." Keanu stood for a while again, listening to her babble incoherently, his heart contented. When he spoke again, he didn't know that Y/n was standing in the doorway a few feet behind them, and his voice was much softer, but still audible, "I'm so grateful for your mama; she took an old man and made him feel young again. And then she gave me you, the best present I could ever ask for," at that, Keanu pressed a lingering kiss to the top of Rosie's head, nuzzling her soft hair with his nose. As if sensing the change in his mood, she clutched the fabric of his sweater in her hands, resting her head on the edge of his shoulder.
