On Thursday at school; at my locker.
I felt like I was going to explode into a million little butterfly's that were flying around in my stomach. Or maybe they are flying saucers.
I pulled out my history and science books when is suddenly heard felt a tap on my shoulder.
I turned around and saw Brooklyn in front of me.
"Hey." She said sounding like she was scared to death.
Except I'm positive that I'm way more scared than she is.
"Hey...your scared about the aptitude test tomorrow too?" I said.
"Yeah." She said looking at the ground.
Then suddenly I noticed Arielle walking toward Brooklyn.
"Brooklyn." I said quickly.
But it was too late to warn her.
Arielle pushed Brooklyn into the lockers so hard that I gasped and put my hands on my mouth.
Arielle and other girls around her pointed and laughed at her.
I got kneeled down beside of Brooklyn.
She was sitting in a awkward way with her head down to the left.
"Brooklyn?" I said softly.
I put both my hands on her shoulders and shook her a little.
"Brooklyn? Are you okay?" I said softly again. Then I realized that she had blacked out. I suddenly felt a rush of anger shoot through me.
I stood up slowly and turned slowly toward Arielle who was still laughing and pointing at Brooklyn.
How could she be so shallow?
Not once in my life have I ever met a mean and shallow person in abnegation. Especially not as mean and shallow as her.
I'm not about to just stand here and let her hurt my best friend like this.
"leave her alone Arielle!!!!" I yelled at her. The room died in silence.
I stared straight into Arielle's eyes.
She started stepping closer to me without making a sound and soon came so close to me that we literally were an inch apart. She looked at me with the most evilest eyes I've ever seen.
"I can do whatever I want to her."
She said lowly.
"I don't see what you like about her anyway. I mean she is just a red- haired weirdo."
"No she's not! She's my best friend!"
"Sure, sure, sure she is. But honestly I think you could do so much better.
You seem nice, you have pretty shining eyes, and everything about you is pretty Beatrice. All you have to do is lose the freak friend and you could be popular."
"How do know my name?"
"Oh please Beatrice. I'm the most popular girl in school. I know everyone's name."
"Well, I don't care if your the most popular girl in school and I don't care about being popular. I'm good with myself. And Brooklyn will always be a better person than you'll ever be."
"Hmm...whatever." She flipped her hair again and walked off the other direction. Then I started walking to a teacher at the end of the hall to make sure that Brooklyn was alright.
---
Around 6th and 7th period it was picture day. The principle and teachers decided to have one last picture day before it was time for the aptitude test and choosing ceremony.
After that the abnegation schools and every other faction will go on with the school year. Except for all the people that switch and will be in a new school.
I was standing all alone in our classes line waiting for my turn.
Brooklyn was still at the nurse....she must have really got hurt.
I hope she is going to be okay.
I actually didn't mind being all alone.
As much as I love being with Brooklyn; I love being alone too.
Soon it came to my turn so I stood behind a gray background while looking in front of me at the lady taking my picture.
"Smile!" The lady said joyfully yet slightly annoyingly.
I understand why...I would probably get stressed and annoyed for having to deal with so much people too.
"Now I want you to put you left arm around your shoulder for me."
I put my left arm around the left side of my head.
All of my hair was laying on my back and I was wearing a yellow spaghetti strap T- shirt. The lady smiled and toke the picture.
Afterwards she gave me the picture and I walked off the platform.
Everyone had already toke their picture and the day was over with which meant it was even closer to
The aptitude test.
