(Loki's POV)

The day before Stark's celebration of our success in Sokovia, Thor barged into my room.

"Loki. I must speak with you."

I put my book down with a sigh. "Have you ever heard of the custom called knocking?" I asked coldly.

"Now is not the time for your antics brother!" He said, pacing.

I roll my eyes at the name. "What do you need to tell me that is so important?"

"It regards Lady Tera."

I'm on my feet immediately. "What's the matter? Is everything alright?"

"Don't worry, she is fine."

I sheath the dagger that I held.

"Then what Thor? What is it?" I'm becoming more miffed by the second.

He comes to sit next to me on my bed.

"I think you need to tell her."

"Why won't you just say what you want to tell me? Stop beating around the bush and just tell me!"

"You love her," he stated matter of factly.

I stare at him, shocked. "What do you mean?"

"Don't deny it Loki. I've witnessed firsthand how happy you become when you are around her. I have not seen you like this since you first met Sigyn."

I thought back to my first wife. I was beyond devastated when I lost my sons. But then I lost her too. The only woman I have ever come to love. I trusted her and she abandoned me, taking what was left of my heart with her. The day she left me, I swore to never fall in love again. I couldn't handle all that pain at once, so I close myself off. Distancing myself from everyone.

"I can't Thor. I'm a monster remember? She will not have me. Not after everything I have done."

"Then why disguise yourself as a cat?" He asked me. "I knew it to be you the instant I saw you, but I did not say anything, not wanting to ruin your chance with this maiden. You stuck by her side for months, you protected her in Sokovia and on your mission together. And what about right now?" He questioned me. "You immediately drew a dagger when I mentioned her name, prepared to protect her. Be honest with yourself. You love each other, but both of you are too scared to say it."

He placed a hand on my shoulder. "Don't let this opportunity of happiness slip past you. Embrace it with open arms. Accept it, as you two have learned to accept each other for who are, mistakes and all. No Loki. You are no monster, you are my brother. You are a good man who's made mistakes. Everyone does. That's life."
