Chapter 13 Kokoro's Story

-5 year old Calienia's P.O.V.-

I frowned looking at my mother from just around the corner. Mommy was always crying when she thought we weren't listening. I didn't want to watch anymore so I went to my room to get dressed. I wore my pink headband, a peach shirt with an aqua heart on it, blue ninja shoes, and grayish brown shorts with wrappings on my left thigh.

I skipped out happily and went to one of my favorite places in the village. The flower fields. I hummed as I picked flowers. I was close to the front gate to. I noticed the breakaway Hokage talking to a man and with him was little boy. The boy had black hair and onyx eyes. His bangs swooped over his forehead and he had a blue shirt with arm warmers and black pants with ninja shoes.

I didn't pay much attention because I really didn't care. 

***6 years later***

-11 year old Calienia's P.O.V.-

I was happy about my genin promotion until I overheard a few rumors going on about me, that's when a boy stopped them. After a little while thinking about it, I recognized him from long ago when I was picking flowers.

After he told the mean girls about how he was gonna kick their asses after he became a genin I decided to walk up to him.

"Um..Thanks for sticking up for me...but...who are you? And how do you know my name?"

"My name is Kokoro Akiyama. My dad said your like a goddess or something. You must be a great person"

"Actually....I'm really not." I said with a sigh. "Look you got it all wrong, I'm absolutely nothing like a goddess. I've just been blessed with a special heart but I can't do anything with it. It doesn't make me stronger or anything."

"Well a nice heart means a nice person right?"

"I suppose." I said with a giggle. "I have decided! You are going to be my new friend and I shall call you Koko."

"I don't mind being your friend. But Koko? Really? Sounds like a girl name..."

"Not really, it's just...fun to say. Koko-Kun." I said and he blushed slightly.

"Ok..then I want to call you Cali-Chan. Deal?"

"Deal. Let's be best friends!"

"Ok!"

After that we both went to my favorite flower field and sat on a log in the small clearing just talking about this and that. 

"So Koko-Kun, why didn't you join the academy sooner?"

"Me and my dad moved here when I was five and I hadn't gotten permission to enter the academy until now. I'll work hard and hopefully achieve genin level sooner."

"So what happened to your mom?" I asked curiously.

"She died in the hurricane on the other side of the hidden mystery. My dad thought it would be safer to move here."

"Sorry about your mom..."

"It's ok. Because her spirit lead us here and she lead me to you." Kokoro said with a closed eye smile making me blush slightly then smile back.

We became the best of friends. I helped him in training and in time he became a genin. When I became a chunin at 12 I adopted Suzu from a pet shelter. I wasn't able to have a team when I became genin but the three of us became known as Team Mist. We were the strongest in all the land of mystery. Kokoro became a chunin and we both became a jounin together. I trained Suzu so she was at our level.

Shortly after is when the three tails went on a rampage and the Akatsuki destroyed the remains of our village out of frustration. Even though Kokoro's father had passed to...He was supportive of me. He was there for me just like Suzu.

I had fun in the hidden sound village. Singing every night with the company of my friends...Until I awakened to the nightmare before me and realized everything Orochimaru had done to me. 

***almost a year ago in the woods near the hidden sound***

Rain was pouring down and Kokoro sat leaning against a tree slowly dying from the Orochi curse. I sat next to him holding his hand and crying.

"Your gonna make it Koko-Kun, just hold on ok?"

"C-Cali-Chan...I don't have much time....I'm dying.."

"No...No your going to be fine! Don't say things like that!"

"You are my bestest friend. You and Suzu were always there for me...But the thing is...every since I first came to the land of mystery and I saw you..picking flowers and looking so innocent..I knew...I knew I'd fall in love with you."

I gasped softly and my eyes widened. I felt a rather painful pinch in my heart.

"Please...my last and only request...Calienia........Kiss me?"

His last request...and I just couldn't grant it...

"B-But I.."

He did his famous closed eye smile before..he was gone forever.

"Koko?...Koko-Kun..?" I sniffled and took in a deep breath. "KOKOROOOOO~!!!"

More tears stained my face and I kissed his forehead before leaving with Suzu before Kabuto could get to us. He loved me...and I never saw it...I thought we would be best friends forever just like he said.....Who knew..
