There wasn’t a clue in the world to where Elisa was, or even how she had gotten there. A calm relaxing feeling had overtaken her whole body and emotional state. The beach waters washed against her soft skin and the cold of it sent Goosebumps down her legs. The breeze flew through her hair and she inhaled the salty air deeply.

“Nice, isn’t it?” A voice next to her spoke. She turned her head and smiled as she saw Marcelo with sun glasses covering the majority of his face and his curly mane tied up. He had his pant legs rolled up to his knees and he too had his feet in the water. She scooted next to him and he put his arm around her shoulders. “Elisa.” His voice echoed. She turned to her side to which she was expecting to see Marcelo again, but he was nowhere in sight. “Elisa!!” It echoed, twice as loud. The sound of a deep cackling caused her to jump and turn around in search of the noise and for Marcelo. When she spun around, her heart and mouth dropped. Robby stood on top of the hill with a pistol in his hand. He held a handkerchief and rubbed it back and forth along the cool and shiny surface. “Elisa!” The voice grew louder. Elisa’s mouth opened for her to scream but nothing came out.

“Elisa!”

Her eyes snapped open and she instantly felt the sweat roll down the sides of her forehead. Her eyes focused on Marcelo who was stricken in panic. “Get up! We have to leave now!” Marcelo pulled Elisa up from the bed and before she could ask, Marcelo was packing both of their things.

“Robby found us.”

Those were the three words that she wished she never would hear. At first, she looked at him to see if he was joking, but the frantic look on his face said otherwise. In seconds, Marcelo had everything ready and was searching the room to make sure that everything was saved. He pushed her behind him as they left out of the room and was soon stopped. Blocking the front door was no other than Robby, Marc, and Oscar.

“Running away from me again, Elisa?” Robby walked towards her with a smirk, which fell upon seeing Marcelo blocking his way from her. “And you ran away with the kid.” Marcelo stood his ground and glared at the man. He was definitely taller than him and his facial features formed dark as if a form of intimidation. He looked as if he were in the late 20s, unlike him, who was only 18. While glaring at Marcelo, Robby extended his arm and grabbed Elisa roughly and pulled her to his chest. She squeaked but still held the angry expression. He looked down at her and gave her a sinister smile that I’m sure sent shivers down everyone who was in the room. “Let her go.” Marcelo growled. Even though he was surely petrified, he knew he had to keep his promise to keep Elisa safe. She was way too important to him.

Oscar and Marc stepped closer to Elisa as well, blocking my vision from her. Before they had the chance to move in on her, he heard her whisper and desperate “Marcelo.” And saw fear tears in the corner of her eyes.

Anger boiled inside of his veins, but not only because Elisa was in trouble, but because he was standing there frozen. Many times before in this short time period that they have been in this situation, he imagined exactly he would do in order to save and protect her. Now his mind was blank, and someone dear to him was in dire trouble.

Robby pulled out a Revolver while Oscar and Marc held her down. He backed up until his back was against the wall and placed the tip of the weapon to his chin. “Now, I don’t know what I should do first.” His eyes scanned over to Marcelo and then back over to Elisa. “Kill you first and watch him suffer.” Then he walked over to Marcelo and placed the tip of the gun under his chin. “Or kill you first and watch her suffer.”

“Kill me.” He heard Elisa’s voice ringing in his ears. Marcelo looked over at Elisa shocked, and saw her standing there straight with a fearless expression. She gave Marcelo a look that he could not decipher and quickly lost her posture and looked down at her feet. He noticed the two teardrops falling to the marble floors.

“Why not kill them both?” Oscar smirked and pulled Elisa over to him while Marc attempted to get a hold of Marcelo. Marcelo elbowed him strongly in the gut, causing Marc to fall to the ground, groaning in pain.

“No.” Robby held the gun forward and aimed it directly at Marcelo’s chest. “I want to finish this adolescence first. Maybe in his next life he will know not to mess with someone stronger and superior.”

Before he knew it, Marc was back on his feet and grabbed Marcelo in his grasp hard so that he was completely immobile.

The click of the gun echoed in his ears and all he could do was close his eyes and wait for the bullet to penetrate his skin. Everything was tuned out, all he could hear was Elisa’s pleading and disapproving grunts.

Bang

Marcelo inhaled sharply and waited.

And waited.

And waited.

Nothing hit him. The first thing that popped in his head was that instead of the bullet hitting him, it hit Elisa instead. His eyes shot open and he looked over to his right to where Elisa stood in shock and unharmed. Marc and Oscar looked in Robby’s direction with the same expression, but held fear in their eyes.

A loud thud followed, attracting his attention to where Robby was standing. A sigh of relief ran through Marcelo’s body once his eyes landed on a lifeless Robby. A puddle of blood spread all over the floor and a small hole had more excess blood pouring out.

“I’m glad I carry this around.” Eden stepped forward with the pistol in her hands. “Let them go or you’ll look like him in a matter of seconds.”

Thiago stepped beside her also with a handgun pointing forward. “You don’t want two bullets in between your eyes, do you?”

Immediately, Oscar and Marc pushed Elisa and Marcelo away and held their hands up.

“I think it’s time we go.” Eden put her gun back into back pocket and pulled her long hair back up into a pony tail with her shoelace. She gave a hug over to a frightened Elisa and Thiago walked over to Marcelo and gave him a pat on the back.

As they walked out of the house, Thiago held his hand gun and walked behind the crew in case Oscar and Marc followed and tried something different in order to attack.

Once they got in the car, Elisa and Marcelo sighed simultaneously. “We can’t thank you guys enough for saving us back there.” Elisa smiled brightly through the mirror. Eden gave her a warm smile and Thiago nodded in reply. “You guys gave me a home when I didn’t have one. Even though this wasn’t a good home...” She shrugged. “But I guess when we get back, we go our separate ways?”

“Nonsense!” Elisa beamed over to her. “Stay at my house.”

“Thiago can stay with me.” Marcelo spoke next and gave him a handshake. Thiago looked at him thankful and grinned so hard that they thought his cheeks would pop.

Elisa pulled out of the driveway and sped down the opposite direction from where they came from. Marcelo smiled to himself upon seeing the relieved smile that Elisa had on her face. Her eyes spoke differently though, and he knew why.

Truthfully, he feared as well. Even though Robby might be out of the picture, he felt that the drama might have only just gotten started.

A/N: OKAY! I KNOW OSCAR AND MARC ARE GOOD GUYS! I ONLY MADE THEM LIKE THAT DUE TO THE PLOT OF THE STORY. HONESTLY, I DON’T PLAN ON HAVING THEM IN THE STORY ANYMORE. JUST SAYING! HOPE YOU ENJOYED HEHE
