Destiny's POV
Valorie and I had a sleepover last Friday, and it was awesome. We climbed trees. We stayed up late. Also, we played with magic.
Now don't get all prissy on me, y'all. We discovered something great within ourselves. It all started when we almost started a fire...
"Val, can you PLEASE help me?!" I said as I was getting a towel to put out the fire.
She coughed. "Of course not! I can't find the extinguisher!"
"It's by the couch!"
"Not there!"
"The bathroom?!"
"No way!"
I screamed. I hated the fact that the extinguisher wasn't there. Mom and my siblings were at Los Angeles.
All of a sudden, water from the neighbors hoses broke, and all of the water came and drenched the place. Valorie's eyes were wide. But instead of screaming in terror like normal people would, she smiled and yelled.
She shook my shoulders. "I KNEW IT! MASALINE was wrong!"
I was really confused."wha, who, what?!"
"Masaline used to be a really powerful Mage when I was small." Valorie said casually."Before I became illegal and ran away, due to stupid stupid laws."
"Wait." I said."you're Illegal? You should turn yourself in!"
She shook her head."No. I am an Apostate. A Mage that ran away from the chantry."
"The Chantry?" I was now officially creeped out."what's that?"
"A religion that worships Andrastae and the Maker." She said."I believe in them, but their laws are crazy. Killing mages. Stripping them of their gift. Or just torturing them."
"Val." I said."am I a Mage?"
Valorie fell deeper into her black hood. She seemed to have worn it ever since she was little.
"Yeah. You're an elemental Mage. Can control elements, like water, lightning and air."
I said, "what are you, then?"
She smiled. A ghostly blue sword appeared in her hand." I'm a knight enchanter and a dragon Mage."
"Show me."
We went outside, and Valorie's form shimmered. She turned into a huge brown dragon with horns. Immediately she turned back human.
I applauded."cool! Should we tell the group?"
Valorie wasn't smiling when I asked her.
"Dunno." She said." Never know if we can trust them."
