Destiny's POV
The first day of 5th grade wasn't so bad. I only got like, a few pages of work. Our teacher, Mrs. Yocum, was new to our grade. She used to teach first grade. Not at this school.
As I was just getting out my pencil, when I heard the steps of boots coming in our room. In came a gothic girl with spiky black and purple hair. Unlike others, her hair was long.
A girl named Morgan gasped. Nya fainted. Some boys just stared at her like why did she come here?
Me and some boys were the only ones not staring. She just put up her backpack and sat in a seat next to me. I thought she would act like a priss, but she nicely smiled and said something unexpectedly nice.
"Hi." She said gently but a hint of strong ness was behind it. "I am Valorie."
Nathan's POV
Whoa. I've never seen a goth girl in my life. When I saw Destiny talk to her at first, I was like she'll be mean later!
Then, after a few months, I was like no way I should have thought that.
That girl had a strong laugh. I mean, even boys hung out with her. Destiny and her hung out a bunch. Then, I completely realized who she was. She was a really shy girl in second grade, when I first came here. A really nerdy girl in third grade, and a shy-nerdy-secret-holding-girl in fourth grade.
And now, she found herself.
Valorie, smartest kid we all know.
