Chapter 20 - Life Goes On

Ross' POV

I rolled over and slowly opened my eyes.

I groaned and squinted at the lit up numbers on the cable box.

7:50 AM. Alright the girls don't have to be at school until 8:00.

Wait...8:00!

I shot up from my spot quickly and tiredly rubbed my eyes to wake up.

"Come one girls we gotta go we're late!" I said rushing into the kitchen.

To my surprise, Rebecca was already sitting at the kitchen counter stools eating away at some pancakes.

Oh alrighty then...

"Morning blondie," Stephanie said walking into the kitchen with a fully dressed and hair fully neat Ellie on her hip.

"Morning," I said confused.

"You looked really comfortable in your sleep and I didn't want to wake you so I just got up and helped the girls get ready for school," she said as she sat Ellie in her looks booster chair so she can reach the table better.

"I hope you don't mind," she said looking at me.

"No not at all! Thank you so much! I really appreciate it," I said smiling at her.

"Not a problem. Want some Nutella pancakes? I know they're your favorite," she said smiling cheekily as she slid a plate of pancakes across the table to me.

"Thanks," I said sitting down and stuffing my face.

Damn, these are good!

"Wow these are amazing!"

"Thanks," she said giggling lightly.

"Yummy," Ellie squealed as she stuffed her face.

"You two look so much alike," Stephanie said smiling at us.

"We get that a lot huh Ellie Belly?" I said to Ellie.

Ellie giggled and nodded.

"Smile," Stephanie said holding up her phone.

We both did our really big smile with our eyes squinted.

"You guys are so cute," Stephanie said giggling.

I kissed Ellie's head and suddenly Steven entered our kitchen with Randy and Jeremy.

"Randy!" Ellie yelled making me jump.

"Jeez you scared me!" I said laughing.

"School time," Steven said.

"Bye daddy," Rebecca said standing up and grabbing her backpack.

"Bye princess," I said getting up and kissing her head.

She left out the door and it was just Ellie, Stephanie, and I.

"Daddy when do I go to school today?" Ellie asked excited.

Ellie isn't exactly going to school today.

Today is the horrid day we all have been dreading: Ellie needs to get the staples out of her head.

"Ellie Belly you aren't going to school today," I said gently.

"Why not?" She frowned.

"You have to go to the doctors for your head," I said.

"Oh ok daddy. Let me go get my shoes," she said hopping off the seat.
