DEANNA'S POV

I had to take Sammi to the hospital. She was in such bad shape that she struggled to keep her eyes open. When we had finally reached the hospital, I had to carry her over my shoulder. When I walked into the ER, two nurses and a doctor ran up to me. "What happened?" the doctor said. I looked at Sam, then back at the doctor. "She got beat up pretty bad. She's got internal bleeding. I don't know how bad." I said. The doctor's expression changed. She looked me in the eyes, nodded, then helped me put Sammi on a bed. They wheeled her into an operating room and shut the door.

I had actually never seen her this beat up, which was really saying something. I didn't know how extreme her injuries were. I knew they were pretty bad though. Dad taught me enough about wounds that I knew she had a few broken bones, some internal bleeding, and a cracked skull. Those were just the injuries I could see. Oh, I wanted to give those hunter dicks what they deserved, but Sammi came first. There'd be time for torturing later.

It had been a few hours that the doctors had been working on her. I had gotten so nervous that I eventually just had to slide myself against a wall and sit. Finally, after what seemed like forever, I saw the doctor that had taken Sam, approaching me. I stood up and looked at her. "Well?" I said. I examined every movement on her face to see if I could anticipate her answer, but I guess being a doctor requires a great poker face.

She was taking so long to answer I felt like I was watching American Idol. "She's gonna make a full recovery." she finally said. My breath left my body. The relief was unbelievable. "I managed to stop the internal bleeding, and set all the broken bones, but she has a severe concussion. She's not gonna be up and around for a while. You're gonna need to fill out some paperwork, but you can do that later." The smile that formed on my face felt weird. I hadn't smiled like that in a long time. "Thank you so much. Can I see her?" I asked.

The doctor nodded and smiled in return. I turned to go see Sammi when I was stopped, "Deanna, do you mind if I ask you a question?" the doctor asked. I furrowed my eyebrows and turned to face her. "How'd you know my name?" She nodded to Sammi's room in response. I nodded back in understanding. "Uh, sure doc. Shoot." She stepped closer to me, "You mind if I ask how your sister got all of those scars? The only other place I've seen scar tissue like that is on veterans." she said in a hushed voice. Like she didn't want to blow our cover or something.

It was my turn to put on my poker face. Crap, my lying's rusty. Think you idiot. "Uh... my sister and I are private detectives. Yep, exposing people, stealing things back, the family business. Let me tell you, we get some weird stuff. Mostly cheating and crap like that, but occasionally we find some exciting cases." I said with a forced smile. The doc nodded her head and mouthed "Oh." You bought that, really? Okay, you bought it. That's good. I thought to myself.

After I tore myself away from the awkwardness with the doc, I walked into Sammi's room. She was awake, but barely. Her leg was in a full cast and there were bandages everywhere. "Well you just look terrible." I said with a smile. She looked at me and faintly smiled back. "Jerk." she said. I rolled my eyes and smiled again. "Bitch." I retorted.

I walked over and sat down in the chair next to her bed. "You feel as bad as ya look?" She rolled her eyes and tried to sit up, but laid back down when she winced in pain. I must've unknowingly had a worried look on my face, because she gave me one hell of a bitchface. "I'm fine. Be back on my feet in no time. Where's Sam and Dean?" she asked.

I looked away from her and looked at the tv that was showing the soap opera Days of Our Lives. "You know I got into a spanish soap opera. Poor Ricardo. Still not over that." I shook my head and pretended to look down in despair. I looked back at her. She wasn't amused. "Alright, fine. I had to leave 'em. They weren't comin and I couldn't leave you." I said in a defensive tone. She shook her head and looked down, "You know, that's your problem. Everything comes before me. You realize if this doesn't go our way, it could be Lucifer all over again. Except this time, it'll be you and you'll be unstoppable. We've had this talk before, Deanna. You've gotta stop putting me first."

There was a short pause between us before I decided to respond. "Yeah ya know what, we have had this talk before. And you know what, it never makes a difference. Sammi, I'm gonna always put you first. No matter anything else. I mean- it's all I've ever known. You can't just turn something like that off. Ya know- this discussion's over. I'm gonna go get some coffee." I got up and walked out. I stopped a few feet away from the door and looked back before I started for the elevator to the cafeteria.

I pressed the button to call the elevator. A man came up next to me and waited. I could see him out of the corner of my eye. The elevator bell rang and the doors opened. I glanced at him and stepped in. He followed. I had a feeling; the feeling I had while I was on a hunt and something was about to go bad.  Oh, this should be fun. I thought.

Once the door had closed and the elevator was moving, I calmly leaned forward and pressed the kill switch. The elevator stopped in it's tracks. I let out a calm breath and I said, "So, you a hunter, or'd Crowley send you?" The guy shrugged and said, "Crowley. Said the four of you have some unfinished business to take care of. Ring any bells?"

I puckered my lips and nodded. "Yeah, can't leave my sister though." Crowley's pet looked at me. I could see him out of the corner of my eye, but I was still focused on the doors. "Crowley gave me specific instructions to bring you back."

I smiled and laughed, "You really think you're gonna get me to go unwillingly?" The demon looked like he was thinking it through. "Fine, how bout this then. I stay here, and watch over your precious sister."

I finally looked at him. "Like I'm really gonna leave you here with her." He shrugged and just looked at me. I thought about what Sammi said. In some ways, she was right. This needed to end. "Fine, but if my little sister even gets so much as a paper cut, I will kill you." I said.

The demon turned to face me, and held his hand out for me to shake, "I'm Vince. Nice to finally meet the famed Deanna Winchester." I gave him the death look and hesitantly shook his hand.

After I let go of his hand, I turned back to face the doors. I pushed the kill switch again and the elevator sprang to life. The elevator was beginning to slow. I turned to look at Vince one more time, "I'm serious, you son of a bitch. A paper cut is all it'll take." He nodded, and just as the elevator doors opened, I was back in the forest.

I looked around and saw Crowley and Sam standing around a fire. Sam saw me and directed Crowley's attention to me. Crowley turned around and said, "Well look who finally decided to show up to the party." I rolled my eyes and looked at Sam. "Where's Dean?" I asked. Sam's eyes looked to our left. I followed his gaze to see Dean in a devil's trap, unconscious. "What the hell?" I said in shock.

"Dean wouldn't let Crowley help. He had a good reason to not want anything to do with his conniving ass," Crowley rolled his eyes, "but we can't do it without him. I don't like it as much as you, but it had to be done." Sam said. I looked at Dean, then to Sam and Crowley. "Okay, let's get rid of these asshats once and for all." I said.
