If sadness is a disease
Contagious and deadly
Spreading like wildfire
Igniting sparksThen pain is an earthquake
Rumbling and deep
Tearing lives apart
Cracking both land and heartAnd tears are floods
Dams bursting
Drowning helpless souls
Deep in their sorrowSo cuts are lightning
Sharp, painful, quick
Over in a flash
Always needing moreAnd if happiness is sunshine
Well, our worlds are all gray
Always leaving us to wonder
If we'll live to see the next day
