Wyen tried to strain forward as Bon and Shima held her back. The unfamiliar red-headed senior exorcist dragged her injured best friend away. Bon and Shima wouldn't let her reach her pistol either. She didn't know how he'd been injured, or why he was in trouble.
It wasn't that she hadn't known something was going on with the twins, she just figured she didn't need to know. But if it put Rin in danger, then she damn well needed to know! After Red-head, Rin, Yukio, and Mephisto disappeared to the Japan branch HQ, she screamed in frustration. That was it! Those boys were going to tell her what was going on. Today. She went to the twins' dorm to wait for them. Man was it awkward explaining that to Shima.
As they were all heading home, Shima glanced back at her for the 5th time. By now, the rest of the girls had split off for the girls' dorms. "You following me or something?"
"No"
"The girls' dorms are that way?" He pointed the opposite direction of where they were heading.
"I know."
"So why are you headed to the boys' dorms? You meeting someone?" He smirked. She gave him a dry look.
"I'm going to wait for Rin and Yukio to make sure Rin's ok. He looked roughed up before getting dragged away in a headlock, and I somehow doubt that he's coming back in better shape." Thinking of which, she probably should have asked Shiemi to come with her, but she had questions that where more likely to be answered if there was only one person asking. Also, okay, maybe Rin's comment about Yukio checking out Shiemi bugged her just a little bit.
Shima shrugged, but then started whispering to the boys. Probably about not buying her story. Bon rolled his eyes and the two seemed to bicker while Konekomaru played peace maker. They reached Rin and Yukio's building and split up. She pulled out Rin's key (she stole it last week and was still waiting for him to figure it out). The boys weren't bothering to be quiet anymore and what she heard confirmed her earlier suspicions.
"She has a key for heaven's sake! Even if she and Rin are like siblings, she and Yukio aren't, and you don't give keys to 'just friends'."
"She stole it as a prank on Rin last Friday, remember? Quit reading into things that aren't there."
She walked in, face burning. Usually, when people accused her of having a crush or something, they meant Rin since they were so close. No one usually gave a second thought to her spending time with Yukio. She shook her head to clear it and headed over to Rin's room to borrow a manga while she waited.
A couple hours later, she looked up from the manga to see them out the window. Rin was wrapped in bandages.
When the twins walked in, both of their jaws dropped, for different reasons. "What are you doing here? And how did you get in?" Yukio asked.
"Hey! That's not your One Punch Man issue 15 Four-Eyes! You don't even own one!" Rin accused her.
She raised a brow and pushed her glasses up. "It's not yours either, but this is." She tossed him his key. She couldn't tell which was more surprising to Yukio, finding her there, or finding out she had Rin's key. His face was kinda priceless. Rin apparently, wasn't surprised by either of those things. Only that he'd failed to notice that his key had been missing.
"When did you..."
"Last Friday Rin, seriously, I can't believe you didn't notice."
Yukio straightened his own glasses, "I guess that just leaves one question. What are you doing here?"
"Why is Rin wrapped in gauze?" She countered.
He grimaced. "I can't say..."
She slammed down the manga and cut him off, "Don't give me that bullshit anymore. I haven't bugged you up to this point because I figured it was none of my business. Maybe you guys still figure that, but guess what? Rin, we may not share blood, but I call you brother and that entitles me to know when you're in mortal danger or legal trouble. Both of which appear to be true, so you owe me an explanation right the hell now."
