So, first off, for those who have no clue what I mean by miraculous, it's a french tv show called "Tales of Miraculous: Adventures of Ladybug and Cat (or Chat) Noir. If this doesn't ring a bell, then you should probably either skip this or look up the show because this won't make any sense otherwise.
Theory 1: The suits have confusion spells in them.
Think about it, we already know the suits are magic. We also know that neither of them (especially Marinette) is different/concealed enough in superhero form to fool anyone, not to mention Alya or each other ! I also think that the Ladybug confusion spell is much more powerful to compensate for her identity being more obvious in both appearance and personality.
Evidence : 1, suits confirmed magic in Lady Wifi (when Alya tries to remove LB's mask)
2, Alya is Marinette's best friend, Adrien's close friend, and the creator of the Ladyblog, and yet is oblivious.
3, Alya noticed the resemblance between Adrien and Cat Noir, but not Mari and Ladybug.
4, Mari is more obvious than Adrien: Car Noir's mask includes cat eye lenses, covers more of his face, and alters his features slightly. He also experiences a major personality shift, due to a feeling of reckless elation and freedom that comes from anonymity. Mari's mask is only an eye mask which doesn't even cover her eyes and the extent of her personality shift is a confidence boost.
Theory 2: Miraculous personality traits in relation to powers
I don't think that the miraculous choosing process is entirely Master Fu or Marinette. I think that something in the miraculous (probably the Kwami) calls to people with certain personality traits. For instance, Ladybug's Lucky Charm can only work for someone highly intelligent and extremely creative.
1, Biggest thing, the bee miraculous. Lucky Charm tells Mari to retrieve the miraculous, and yet she didn't use it to stop Style Queen. The only difference it made was in Chloe finding it. Is this a sign that Pollen wanted to end up with Chloe.
2, Mari's intuition for who gets what miraculous. How did she know that Wayzz was a protective miraculous? I think something in the miraculous was calling to be used. Not to mention, once again going back to the bee, if she planned on giving it to Alya, why didn't she bring Trixx and the fox necklace to turn her into Rina Rouge again?
3, Like I said in the explanation of the theory, some of them need a specific kind of person to work at all, after all, what's the point of having the power of illusion without any sort of imagination?
Theory 3: Once you use a miraculous, you're bonded to the kwami. (Very iffy pt2, you can only bond with one kwami) This one is based less on evidence and more on a gut feeling and what makes sense to me. The only real evidence I can think to offer is the control a holder is capable of holding over their kwami. Remember when Hawkmoth forbid Nuroo from communicating or leaving the house?
Theory 4: Hawkmoth can only use one akuma at a time. I mean, it's not as if Ladybug and Cat Noir are never upset during a fight, and if he could just lure them out to fight an akuma and then akumtize one of them, don't you think he would have by now?
Theory 5: Hawkmoth can't take back an akuma. Despite all his talk of revoking powers, I don't think he can. ( amendment since season 2 finale, he can't take it back without the victim's permission)
Times I think he would have taken back powers if he could.
1, What if he could remove an akuma and send it to Ladybug or Cat Noir? (Iffy, I know)
2, When he realized that akumatizing a baby with no attention span was a bad idea.
3, Most important! When his own robotic akuma victim tried to freaking kill him and take the miraculous and wish for himself! If there's ever a time to take back someone's powers, it's then!
Theory 6: How I think the reveal/ love square should go. First off, I think we need more Marichat like in Glaciertor. Then the 2 have to realize that they like the other side (as in that Mari likes Chat and vise versa ). Then they need to agonize over it. Then, I don't know why, but I want Mari to find out first, on accident. Then, after a lot of agonizing (again) she tells him her secret identity as Mari.
Theory 7: Miraculous holders are immune to their own powers. One has to wonder, what would happen if Cat Noir, I don't know, face palmed with a cataclysmic hand? Would he be affected? I think the answer is in "The Collector". Hawkmoth has to renounce Nouroo before he can be akumatized, not just detransform, renounce.
