Chapter 9: Trial and punishment

(No ones POV)

It has been a month since diamonds attacked the earth and obliterated every gem on the surface. Your actions were quite questionable in the eyes of diamonds, especially for Yellow Diamond. She felt ashamed that her best creation to the date has decided to commit such an act of betrayal by disobeying orders. 

After being "captured" by the soldiers of the ship where the you and the diamonds were, you were now waiting patiently in a cell for your trial. You really weren't captured by the guards. You just decided not to resist so Ash wouldn't get caught in the collateral damage since she was also in the same ship. You could easily have made a hole in the ship and escape. But you wanted to make sure nothing happened to Ash. Your loyalty is questioned by all Homeworld now. But no matter what, no one can question your loyalty to the gems closest to you.

You were in a dark room with your hands tied with steel handcuffs that covered your arms to the area of your elbows.

Onyx(mind): How long will they take?

Conveniently, a door slid up, allowing a Topaz soldier to walk inside your cell. On the other side of the door, you could see other Topaz soldiers and some Quartz soldiers too. Each of those warrior gems was armed and prepared with all kinds of weapons and armor.

Topaz: General- I mean... Onyx. Everything is ready for the trial. 

You got up from the ground and started to crack a little you neck and shoulders.

Onyx: Finally.

You started following the Topaz soldier out of the cell. The rest of the guards were walking next to you while they stared at you. It was easy to tell that some of them were afraid that you would try to escape and then start shattering each one of them for fun... Even as a traitor, the reputation of the infernal gem continued to frighten many.

After a short period of time walking through the halls of Yellow Diamond's palace and receiving many looks from the gems of her court, you finally reached the throne room. Yellow Diamond was sitting on her gigantic throne. As soon as you setted a foot on the throne room, Yellow Diamond's gaze quickly changed to a mixture of anger and sadness. Yellow Pearl was standing a few steps to the right of Yellow Diamond's leg. She would take note of everything that will be said during this trial. Surprisingly, there was no Zircon in the throne room. Apparently Yellow Diamond wants to hear directly your reasons for betraying homeworld and your version of the story. 

You stopped walking a few steps from Yellow Diamond's throne. Two Topaz guards aimed their battle axes at the height of your neck to make sure you wouldn't try anything funny. You looked up and looked directly into Yellow Diamond's eyes.

YellowPearl: The trial starts now.

Normally, Yellow Diamond would be laying her head on her arm every time she was sitting on her throne. But this time, Yellow Diamond was clenching the armrest of her throne with both hands.

YellowDiamond: Onyx... What do you have to say in your defense?

Onyx: Nothing that can prove that my actions have a fair purpose.

YellowDiamond: Fair purpose? You allowed the crystal gems to escape from planet earth! The same crystal gems that shattered Pink!

Yellow Diamond punched the armrest of her throne, making small cracks on it. You didn't show much reaction to Yellow Diamond's anger demonstration.

Onyx: No... What I did was save many gems that were bravely fighting for Homeworld's honor. Gems that, by the way, were going to be unfairly sacrificed for an infection that does not exist!
