Kendal

"Aweee. Babe look at this cat!" I said showing Santos my phone. He laughed.
He began staring at me and I felt him looking but didn't say anything.
"Kendal... did I ever tell you how grateful I am that we met..." he said touching my face. I smiled and looked at him.
"I'm grateful too." I replied. He kissed my cheek and got off the couch.
We heard the door open so I glanced. It was Zaccariah, Jay, and Tay.
"Hey guys." Zaccariah said. I felt the tension in the room while Tay and Santos stared at each other. But Tay walked up to him and held out his hand, and Santos shook it. I had a confused face but brushed it off.
"Santos, come upstairs." Zaccariah said to him. I was really confused on what was going on but I kept brushing it off. They went upstairs and Jay just walked to the kitchen. The silence was awkward until Tay walked near me.
"Come here." He said holding out his hand. I didn't grab it but I walked towards the door behind him. He touched my waist and looked up, then I noticed the mistletoe.
"I shouldn't..." I said with my head down.
"You know the rules." He said lifting my face. I didn't want to kiss him... but... I don't know something happened... we kissed and I heard yelling.
"You really left her alone down there with him?!" I heard Santos say running down the steps. But by the time he and down, he saw Tay's hands around my waist.
"No... y'all didn't..." Santos said with his eyes watering.
"I— I'm so sorry." I said. My voice began breaking.
"Unbelievable." He said storming upstairs. I ran after him.
"Santos Wait! Please!" I yelled. I looked at Zaccariah and knew she set this up.
I saw him putting his shoes.
"Listen, I'm sorry." I said.
"No you're not. You can't see what's right in front of you and that's fine. Obviously I'm not good enough if you keep going back to THAT." He said. As he got up I saw tears fall down his face which only made me feel worse. I didn't know what to say or do...
"I'm sorry." I said.
"Sorry isn't going to make anything better..." he said grabbing his jacket. He walked out the door. I ran downstairs behind him and outside.
"Please just listen to me..." I said. He opened the car door and froze.
"Just go back inside. And leave me alone." He said. He got in his car and drove off. My heart felt like it stopped for a few seconds realizing he was right. How could I be so selfish when I'm PREGNANT with his baby! Why did I do this. I walked inside.
"If he loved you, he would've stayed." Tay said. I looked at him with a bitch face.
"He was more than happy to stay when he found out I pregnant with his baby!" I yelled. His eyes widened and he got up.
"What?" He asked.
"Did Zaccariah and Jay tell you that?" I asked. He face was full of disbelief when he pushed me out the way.
"Yo don't fucking touch her!" Jay said walking fast from the kitchen. Tay just kept walking. I walked upstairs and slammed my door. I didn't care about anything at that point except for Santos.

A few days later

Zaccariah

It was New Year's Eve. A time for new beginnings. Kendal has herself locked in her room for days. But I've heard her come out her room at night when me and Jay were upstairs. I know she was mad, but how mad could she be.
"Ready for that party." I said to Jay.
"Yeah. What time does it start?" He asked.
"Eight." I replied.
"What time is it?" He asked.
"Four on the dot. Let's start getting ready." I said. I texted Kendal and reminded her she's still invited. But I don't think she cared. The message said read. So obviously she wasn't dead.
"Babe, you think she coming?" Jay asked.
"Of course... hopefully." I replied.

I tried to open the bathroom door but noticed it was locked. Then I put my ear to the door and noticed that Kendal was taking a shower during the day, so maybe she is going. I went back to the room and just laid down. Jay looked at me and smiled.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing, I just never noticed how long your eyelashes were." He said laughing.
"Oh... cooool I guess." I said. I heard the bathroom door open so she was out.

I walked downstairs and noticed Kendal.
"Hey... so you're coming." I said.
"I guess... there's nothing else better to do." She said. I smiled and hugged her.
"Ok ok..." she said. I looked down and noticed her stomach.
"Awe..." I said rubbing it. She smiled.
"Why you wearing sneakers?" I asked.
"I don't need my feet hurting." She said laughing. I laughed too.
"So..." I said.
"No me and Santos aren't talking. And I completely understand why he hates me." She told me.
"He doesn't hate you. He's just disappointed." I said.
"Okay... well" she said shaking her head.
"I heard he's going to the party with Mia. So... good outfit choice." I said.
"With MIA?!" She said loud.
"Yeah... so show off!" I said laughing.
"With a baby bump? Naw. They can have each other at this point." She said.
"He would never do that. He has a baby with you so he's gonna stay with you. That's the type of person he is." I told her. She smiled.

At the party

"Maybe we can just turn around..." she said.
"Nope we're going inside." I said knocking.
"Fine..." She said. Isaiah opened the door and it was loud.
"I'll be by your side. You got this." I said. She nodded. I saw her grab a drink.
"Girl put that shit back!" I yelled. She sighed.
"Come on. Let's take pictures." I said smiling. I gave Jay the phone and walked over to the couch. She sat down.

"See, that wasn't so bad." I said.
"Yup..." she replied. I looked at her and saw her eyes widen. I looked and Santos was walking through saying hi to everyone with a hug or a hand shake. He walked past and stopped. He looked up and down at Kendal as if he never met her. But he still smiled. Kendal walked towards him slowly. "I'm gonna go find Jay with my phone..." I said to myself.

Kendal

"Yooo mamas." He said.
"Ew. Seems like you're flirting like we just met." I said laughing.
"I thought you had a boyfriend. So..." he said.
"Trey, you know damn well I don't have no boyfriend. Shut up." I said rolling my eyes. He hugged me tightly and whispered "Ohrd. You know better..."
I smiled.
"So how you been?" I said.
"Not gonna lie, sad." He said.
"Me too!" I said loudly. He touched my stomach and smiled.
"I know..." He said. I saw Mia walk over and grab Santos' hand.
"Hey. Did you forget about me?" She asked.
"Naw, jus saying wassup to my baby mom." He said looking at me. She rolled her eyes.
"But I'm your date." She said.
"No... we came together but you not anything but a friend." He said. I laughed and she walked away.
"Come here." He said grabbing my face and kissing me.
Everything was going okay...
