Chapter 13

Karma POV

After a long and tiring day at work, I quickly get home and decide that I have enough time to have a quick nap before I need to head out to see Dominic. I'm going to be honest, I've been dreading it all day. Once having the na, I get changed and quickly do a light makeup with my hair in an upside down braid into a ponytail.

After texting Dominic, I grab my keys, phone and purse and head out to time square. Getting there, we agreed to go to a restaurant called Dallas BBQ. I see Dominic already standing outside of it. Once he sees me, he looks a little annoyed.

"Hey. Your late" was the first thing he said to me.

"Just be glad I showed at all. Hap a crappy day at work"

We both walk into the restaurant. Dominic gives his name to the waiter as the waiter shows us our seats. Once seated, I start looking through the menu straight away.

"I know what you're getting. Let me order for you Karma"

"I'm a big girl Do,  I can order my own food. Plus weren't not dating"

"So how have you been?"

"Cut the small talk Dom. I'm only here to listen to you e plain everything to me. After that I'm done with you"

"Karma, I...." he starts but gets cut off by me.

"Save the bullsh*t that you love and want me back. As I remember when you broke my heart, you said everything was lies. All to just get me to fall for you.  So the fact that you hunk I'd believe you now is beyond funny"

"Look, I'm sorry I hurt you.  I didn't mean to. After I explain, I hope it will clear things up and can at least be friends"

I laugh and roll my eyes at the 'friends' part while looking over the menu.

"Uh huh. Sure"

The waiter does by to get our drink orders. I get a water while Do gets a coke. When the waiter leaves again, we both return to the topic before the waiter came back for our orders. I end up getting a sweat and spicy crab while Dom got the Hennessy burger.

"I know you're still mad at me"

"Mad? Nah, I, over everything. If I was mad, your pretty little car would be busted up. Your video games you love, all smashed and your clothes burned. So many times I wanted to do that. Then I thought, wouldn't be worth it. Best revenge is to move on like you died to me. Since you did act like I died to you"

I see the hurt on his space but he covered it up with taking a sip of his drink.

"I get that. I understand karma"

"Do you thought? Do you really"

"Yes, of course I do"

"Unbelievable"

"What is?" He asks confused

"You are"

The food gets brought out to us while in this argument. We end up eating in dead silence. I really can't wait until I hear his side of the story.

"Why am I unbelievable?"

"The fact you act like you care about me"

"I do care karma. God, I wish you'd believe me"

"You really should be an actor. I performance is spot on"

I can see Dominic grip his drink tightly, showing that he's clearly angry. Me being me, I don't care and continue eating. My phone goes off, letting me know that I have a text message.
