you were well aware of what you had gotten yourself into when it came to dating someone like chan—anyone with a sane mind would have known that a relationship with anyone of the like wouldn’t be a stroll in the park; yet, there you were with tears burning at the back of your eyes as you tried your best to open his eyes to the issue at hand. you wished for him to make more of an effort to spend time with you, to communicate with you at least—a simple “hey baby, how was today?” or a “i don’t have much time, but let’s make the most of it.” but rather you were met with radio silence on most days, only receiving a call when he deemed it convenient.

“i never thought things would be like this,” you crossed your arms loosely over your chest, eyes darting to look everywhere but at chan’s eyes. “it doesn’t even feel like we’re dating anymore…” you swallowed the lump in your throat, hoping that he wouldn’t be able to see just how close you were to breaking down.

“chan? why are we even dating?”

your quivering voice caught him off guard and you were able to tell that he was unsure of how exactly to respond to such a question, his mouth opening and closing once again when he deemed his words unjust. it had taken your shaky voice and trembling lip for him to realize just where he had fucked up in the relationship and he despised that he had allowed it to get to such a point.

his hands fell limply to his sides, a sigh escaping his lips before approaching you in a manner that could only be described as someone who was approaching a startled deer; and once he was positive that you weren’t going to run away from him he brought you closer into his embrace, arms wrapping themselves around your shoulders and the small of your back, cheek moving to rest atop the crown of your head.

“i had no idea you felt this way, i’m so sorry. i’m going to fix this, i promise.”
