Hyunjin

“hey, you ready to go?” you hear hyunjin call out to you as he finishes paying for all the snacks you two bought. 

“yeah!” you say, and you help him with the bags to his car.

it’s 5:30 pm, and the sun is setting. the sky is turning into a pretty shade of pink and purple as you and hyunjin drive back to your apartment to have a movie marathon after a long, exhausting week. 

as you guys are driving on the seoul streets, soft ballads play through the speakers.

“how are you, angel?” you hear him ask.

“ah, could be better, but i feel okay now that i’m with you!” you say. 

you see hyunjin smile as he intertwines your hands together and kisses the back of your hand.

you look at hyunjin for a while, and you think about how handsome he looks today in his baseball hat and how soft he looks in his giant grey sweater and how he looks so huggable! you proceed to take the baseball hat off and run your hands through his hair to make him look even more soft.

“hey stop staring at me i can’t concentrate!” he teases.

“sorry! you just look so cute today!” you exclaim as you pinch his cheeks.

you stare out the window as you think about how lucky you are that you fell in love with a boy who’s so incredibly passionate about dancing, how you fell in love with a boy who’s smile lights up the whole room, how you fell in love with someone who’s mere presence makes you feel like a whole new person.

"hey i lo-” “i lo-” you both say in unison

you both look at each other for a few seconds before breaking out in laughter.

“i love you, hwang hyunjin”
