For the past few days Bismarck had been limited to working on the various files that she was given, but even the commander noticed that she was getting very little work with.
"It's like they're putting everything on Jack..." She mumbles as she finishes the last of it and Georgie prepares it to be delivered back to the higher ups. "It's almost like homework now."
"Without the whole studying part." Georgie says as the two head outside to meet the other shipgirls. "Huh, where's Jack?"
"Already gone." Wales says. "Out to destroy another Siren fleet, although it's taking longer than normal. Anyone wanna go check up on him?"
"I'll go." Zed replies as she takes to the water to try and find Jack. A few more minutes pass but Zed returns with an unconscious and heavily wounded Jack on her back.
"What happened to him?!" Everyone asks in shock.
"Seems like his luck failed him." Zed replies. "I saw him take a high explosive shell to the face."
"Ow!" Enterprise says. "I kinda expected this to happen though... Anything else happen to him?"
"He got hit by some AP shells from being so reckless but the worst has to be that high explosive one to the face." Zed replies. "I'm bringing him in."
"It's a miracle that he's even alive." Yorktown says. "Well be quick!" And with that Zed carries Jack to the higher ups so he can undergo repairs before returning to meet up with the other shipgirls.
"Well, looks like it's up to us to defend the docks again since he's not around." Bismarck chuckles.
"Still I wonder what's going to happen to Jack." Tirpitz says. "Someone should go check up on him to see if everything's okay at some point. Judging by what happened to him, he's probably gonna be in there for a few days."
"I'll do that." Wales replies.
"That's settled at least." Tirpitz says before looking out to the water. Suddenly everyone hears what sounds like a low, ominous buzzing and Eugen and Zed spot something horrifying rocketing towards the docks and bring out their anti air weaponry, letting loose a hailstorm of bullets that quickly destroy whatever was rocketing towards the docks in a huge fireball.
"What was that?!" Zuikaku asks.
"Did the Sirens steal some of our technology?!" Eugen asks in shock.
"What is it?" Enterprise asks. "What was that just flying at us? And what was that buzzing noise?!"
"That was a V-1..." Tirpitz replies, struggling to find words.
"No way..." Georgie says. "How did the Sirens get ahold of something like THAT?!"
"My planes have taken down so many of those things... Just hearing that dreaded buzzing sound scares the bejeezus out of me..." Enterprise says.
"Wait wait wait what are we talking about here?" Hood asks. "I have no idea what you girls are talking about!"
"You probably don't know what the V-1 is, but it's essentially a flying, remote control bomb." Zuikaku and Shoukaku reply.
"It makes this dreaded buzzing noise when it flies, and it's said that when it's engine stops, so does your clock." Enterprise explains.
"You couldn't have put that in a better way." Tirpitz says. "They're called buzz bombs because they make that noise, that low buzzing everyone heard."
"And I have a bad feeling we'll be seeing more of those out there." Zed says. "At least we have the means to intercept them but we can't always be on the lookout for those things. I don't know how the Sirens got ahold of something like that but we need to be on the ball if we're going to deal with them."
"Hey! I think there's something off in the distance!" Wales says. "I think that's where they launched that bomb!" She shouts as she spots what appears to be another Siren fleet.
"We just can't get a break can we?" Enterprise asks as everyone moves out.
