AN: IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS MORE DRAMATIC THAN IT ALREADY IS, LISTEN TO 'GOODBYE' BY AVRIL LAVIGNE. ENJOY!
Summer wraps her arms around herself as Art starts the car and begins driving her home.
"Summer... I'm sorry."
"You're always sorry..." She stares out the window, tears in her eyes. "I hate you." She says quietly, frowning.
He taps his hands on the steering wheel, frowning deeply, pressing his lips together and looking miserable. "Don't say that..."
She glares at him. Why does he make her like this? It's like he wants to make her crazy. He does it on purpose. How can he be so calm?
A million questions swirl through her head as he pulls up to her cabin.
"Summer, wait."
She looks back at him, disappointment all over her face again. He hates that look on her. "What did I do to you to make you hate me, Art?"
"I don't fucking hate you, Summer, don't ever say that." He snaps, pissed.
"What happened to you?" She demands. "I thought that we would just have a fun summer together... I mean... I'll only be here for two more weeks- you just couldn't keep it together?"
He looks down.
"What do you want from me, Art?" She demands. "Just tell me what you want- do you want me to be your girlfriend? Do you want me to leave you alone? What do you want?" She yells. "Someone you can fuck? Someone you can dominate? Is that why you wanted me, just because I agreed to be your submissive? What do you want?"
He shakes his head as tears fall down her beautiful face. "I don't- I don't fucking know, Summer- I don't know!" He yells back, looking crazy as well.
She wipes her eyes and shakes her head. "It shouldn't be this hard... I told you. I told you before that we didn't have to do this to ourselves."
"I want to."
"You want to torture yourself? And me?"
He shakes his head. "I just... want you. You're all I want."
She tucks her hair behind her ear, staring at the dashboard for a moment. "You did this."
He looks over at her. "Summer, just... Just give me some time to fix this..."
"There is no more time." She takes a deep breath, leaning back in her seat. "Art, I don't want to do this anymore."
He's frowning deeply.
"We've already had this conversation. This just hurts. There's no point."
"I can't stop."
"Well, I can." She says, looking over at him and memorizing his face. Even though they were only together for a couple months, it feels like it's been a lifetime.
She can't handle him. He's just too much to deal with. She thought she could- prayed she could. But she can't. And she gives props to the girl that eventually will.
Thinking of him with any other girl makes things worse.
She loves him. Stupidly. Everything about him. She would have done anything for him. Followed him anywhere. But now, she can't.
"You'll find someone perfect for you, Art." She breathes. "And I can't be around to see that."
"I don't want anyone else!" He yells. "I want you!"
"I don't know what to do, Art!" She screams. "I can't fix you! And I can't fix myself! There's nothing I can do!"
He hits the steering wheel, hard, making her flinch.
