AN: Enjoy.

Ariel is sitting on her bed, frowning because all of Summer's things are gone and she isn't answering her phone.

Daisy walks into the cabin and smiles at Ariel, sitting down behind her and wrapping her arms around her friend.

Ariel hold onto Daisy's hands. "Summer left."

Daisy nods. "I thought she might. I guess things didn't work out with that guy."

Ariel nods. "Things never work out."

Daisy shrugs. "Maybe the things that don't work out, are things that just weren't meant to be."

"Maybe." She sighs. "How's Nick?"

"He's great. We're great." She adds.

Ariel turns around and looks at Daisy. "You're not okay either, are you?"

Tears form in Daisy's eyes. But she smiles, like she always does. "I can deal with a lot."

"I wish I could."

A knock on the cabin door wakes Lena up. She walks to the door and opens it to find Evan standing there.

She sighs, shaking her head at him. "Go home."

"Lena! Just wait! I have to talk to you."

"There's nothing to say, Evan. And it's too early for me to deal with your shit."

"Look. I fucked up. I loved Summer. But I loved her too much. And she didn't love me enough."

"And now you love me and I don't love you. Are we done here?"

"Lena, why can't you-"

"I'm just not cut out for this, okay? Ariel is. Maybe Summer is with that guy she met, but..." She frowns. "I'm not. We don't even know each other. It was just sex."

"You really didn't feel any connection?"

"That's just how it feels. Evan, you were a virgin. And I was your first. So... you're always going to think you love me. But you don't. Just go home- we don't live anywhere near each other. Nothing is going to happen."

"People have long distance relationships, Lena!" He suddenly yells.

"There has to BE a relationship in the first place to have a long distance one, Evan!" She yells back. "I'm not interested-"

He grabs her and kisses her and she immediately kisses him back.

And the door opens. Of course.

Ariel stands there, shocked.

Lena pushes Evan away. "Ariel, it's not what it-"

"It's not what it looks like? Really?" Ariel snaps. "It looks a hell of a lot like you're making out with the motherfucker that hit our cousin."

Lena shakes her head. "He didn't mean-"

"I didn't mean to hit her." Evan interrupts. "I would never hit a girl."

"You don't get to hit a girl and then say you didn't mean to- you can't just go around fucking everything up and then apologize and think everything's fine!" Ariel screams, pissed off and yelling at both of them. "That's not how things work."

Lena glares at her cousin. "People make mistakes-"

"People are fucked up." Ariel snaps. "You think the whole world revolves around you, Lena!"

"The whole world has never revolved around me, Ariel! Never- it's always been about you Summer and how perfect you fucking are!"

"Perfect?! Lena, Summer had an overdose- I can't stay sober for more than a month- what about that sounds perfect?!" She demands.

"You have everything, Ariel! Boys fall at your feet- the only reason boys fuck me is for revenge or to make you and Summer jealous. Do you know how that makes me feel?!" Lena yells, tears streaming down her face.

"Don't let them! You have control over that!"

Lena glares at her cousin.

Ariel looks at Evan. "Get the fuck out of here or I'm fucking calling the cops." She snaps, mostly lying.

He starts to argue. "Ariel-"

She points at the door.

With a sigh, he goes.

"I can't believe you." Ariel rants, grabbing her duffel bag and throwing all of her things in it. "It's one thing to fuck my boyfriend. But then you fuck the guy that hit your cousin."

"He didn't-"

"Don't you dare say he didn't mean to!" Ariel yells. "It doesn't matter what he meant to do! It matters what he did! And he slapped her. Get that through your fucking head." She says. "And I can't believe you wouldn't get that. You, of all people- you and Summer were closer than any of us." Ariel finishes and storms out of the cabin.

Lena is the last one left in this hell hole that was supposed to be the best summer ever.

She sits down on the bed, her head in her hands.

Later that night, Ariel and Lena sit at the table at the family dinner. Summer went home, without a word. And Ariel won't speak to Lena. She's alone.

"So, how has your summer been girls?" Ariel's mom asks.

Both of the girls shrug.

"Where is Summer by the way?"

"She was just ready to go home." Summer's dad says. "She can only take so much."

Lena looks at him, then back down at her plate.

Suddenly the door bursts open and Noah comes barging in with a guitar and flowers.

Everyone looks at him and he clears his throat awkwardly.

"What are you doing here?" Ariel demands.

"I came for you, baby." He says, grinning. "I'm sorry that I've been an asshole. I never meant to-"

Ariel blushes- which is rare. "Could we not have this discussion in front of my entire family?" She snaps.

"I don't care- I want everyone to know how I feel about you! I even wrote you a song!"

She shakes her head, incredulously. "Unbelievable- go home, Noah." She stands up and then he jumps up onto the chair.

He strums a chord that isn't a chord on the guitar that he doesn't know how to play. "Oh, Ariel! I did you wrong, but you're the only girl for me!" He sings in his terrible voice. "And I bought you flowers and stuff! And you're  the only one I ever want to fuuuck-!"

Summer's dad grabs Noah down off of the chair. "What the fuck did you just say to my neice?!"

"Ow! Wait! That was only the first part of the song! Ariel, I love you! Come back to me!" He yells while being dragged out of the cabin.

Ariel is laughing hysterically at this point.

He smiles back at her.

She follows them outside. "It's okay," She says, when he lets go of Noah roughly, causing Noah to fall flat on his back..

He glares down at Noah. "Ever say that again, it will be the last thing you say. Got it?"

Noah nods, scowling and rubbing his ear.

Ariel sits down beside him, wrapping her arms around her legs where he's laying on the ground.

She sighs and looks over at him. "You're a complete idiot. You know that, right?"

He nods. "Yeah... but I'm your idiot."

She sighs. "So what's gonna happen now?"

"Well. We're going back home in a couple weeks. And then college."

"Where?"

He shrugs. "I have to go to music school. I'm a great songwriter." He teases.

She laughs. "How about we go somewhere together?"

He grins. "I'd like that." He looks up at her. "Are we good?"

She smiles. "Yeah. We're good."
