"Mmm kay, contacts..." My finger dances around Ashtyn's cracked phone screen, searching for the suspicious boy's number. "Ah ha!" I find the contacts app, and begin scrolling through the names, looking for any familiar names; then my finger stops and my mouth widens in complete utter shock at the all too familiar name I find in her phone: Ethan Dolan Aka Mystery Boy. Not my words, Ashtyn's.
I-I-It can't be him. Please dear Lord not him...literally ANYONE ELSE BUT him.
Too many memories I tried pushing back from my mind for so long come flooding back into the front of my mind. The horrible, horrible memories.
I can't let Ashtyn go on a date with him. He'll ruin her. But I also can't warn her or she'll question how I found out it was him and I'll have to tell her and she'll never trust me again! Oh the situation Ashtyn has gotten herself into...ok I have an idea! I'll let her go on that date. And once she introduces me to him I'll act surprised then and then I'll warn her of all his capabilities. Wait- but SURELY she realized we're practically identical and have the same last name...I gasp. She's trying to keep me from know it's him! Oh well never mind that, I'll just stick to the plan...
I slowly stand, turning off Ashtyn's phone since I found what I was looking for and stealthily sneak back towards her room.
Reaching the door once again, I peak my head around the door frame; she's fast asleep. Then, I begin tip-toeing to the night stand. As soon I as reach it, as quickly as possible I plug it in and try to step away, but a small soft voice stops me dead in my tracks.
"Gray? What are you doing?" Ashtyn whispers sleepily.
I spin around to see her sitting up now, squinting her eyes questioningly. "Oh I, uh, I was just, um, checking up on you! Yeah! You know, since it's your first night here, I just wanted to make sure you were sleeping fine!"  I mutter out.
"Oh, ok, that's very sweet of you." Then almost immediately her eyes sweep shut and she's asleep in an instant.
    I sigh out a breath I didn't know I was holding. It's been a long night...I'm going to bed.

"Gray, can you pass me the syrup?" I ask awkwardly as I sit across from Grayson, us eating our pancakes quietly.
"Mhm."
Gray has been acting weird all morning, did I do something wrong?
"Hey, Grayson, you seem off today. Did anything happen last night while I was sleeping or-" I'm cut off by Grayson abruptly throwing his fork down.
"No, Ashtyn, nothing happened! Now if you'll excuse me I'd like to enjoy my breakfast in silence."
I'm in complete shock. "Uh-sure, Gray...sure." Then I get sad. This is not how I wanted to spend my second day in LA. with my best friend.
