After a tear filled goodbye with my parents, more tears with my mom though, I caught the soonest flight to L.A. that I could book, ready to see my most favorite person in the world.
I didn't tell Grayson that I had already left for L.A. I want to make sure it's a surprise, so I texted his mom asking for his address.
Once I arrive at the airport in L.A., I step out of the airport and my first thought is, "it's beautiful." After calling an Uber, I sit and wait on a bus bench, holding my luggage tightly by my side. Startling me, all of a sudden I receive a text from Gray.

Graypsonn: hey, girl, heyyy I have a ? When do you think you'll be leave for L.A. I'm so ready to see you! :((
Ashtyn: Soon I promise!
Graypsonn: It better be!!
Ashtyn: It will don't worry! But I gtg my Uber's here
Graypsonn: where you going??
Ashtyn: It's just for some coffee, now I gtg
Graypsonn: okayyy bye b

To Grayson's place I go...

With only one step out of the Uber and onto Grayson's front lawn, my legs turn to jelly and I become supremely nervous. But it's not a dreadful nerves, it's pure excitement.
After a couple deep breathes, and the Uber driver driving away, I finally force myself to walk forward towards the front door. I know he's home because his gorgeous, baby blue Porsche is sitting in the open garage.
I step up to the front door. This is it: Grayson is right behind this door. One...my fist rises...Two...it touches the door...Three...then instantly my fist bangs loudly five times on the stained wood of the front door.
After 10 anxious seconds of waiting awkwardly, i hear the locks unlocking and the door slowly being opened. Then, an all too familiar person is standing in the doorway. It only takes him two seconds to process who he's looking at, then his hazel eyes widen and at the same time, his mouth does the same.
"ASHTYN STOP, IS THAT ACTUALLY YOU?" He burst out, startling me so much that I swear I had a heart attack.
I look down at myself. "I mean I think it's me? What is it...or is it Ashtyns twin she never told you about?"He gets awkward for a few seconds after that last statement. Odd...
Returning back to his normal self, "I'm so happy to finally see you!" He runs toward and wraps his arms around my waist and lifts me up from the ground as I warp my tiny arms around his neck.
"Me too. That's why I'm here so early. I caught the soonest flight I could book." I didn't realize how much larger he was than me 'til just now.
"Well I'm so, so glad you did! I can't believe I'm actually talking to you in person right now with out anything like 'I think I'm losing you!' After FIVE years."
"I know!" He stares down at me smiling for a few more seconds before finally saying, "well do want to come inside your new home?" He gets real giddy and it's adorable.
"Of course!"
He laughs and spins around on his heel to face inside the house, "then follow me." Then I walk inside, looking forward to a new beginning with my best friend.
