-Ashtyn
"Thanks again for toting me and my poor car up here. I can't believe you just happened to have a random chain in the trunk of your car." I laugh as Kaleb and I pull into the parking lot of the restaurant I'm meeting Ethan at.
"Uh, who doesn't?" He asks as if I were stupid.
"Uh, me!" And we both laugh. I can already tell this is a start of a nice friendship.
"Well, I guess I should go. Someone's waiting for me inside. Do you mind just unhooking my car from yours and leaving in the parking lot?" He shakes his head. "Thanks." I open his poor, poor passenger door, surprised it's still on its hinges, and step out of the car. Before closing the door I say assuringly, "And I'm still so, so sorry about what happened earlier. I feel so terrible about it. Not really used to driving in LA. yet."
"I'm not sorry. I think it was fate bumping into you again." We smile at each other for a moment in silence. "Bump ya later ma'am."
"I wouldn't wish that upon yourself!" Then I slam his door shut, and walk away towards the front doors after one last glance of him laughing.
Once I walk into the front door, I step up to the front desk.
"Do you have a reservation?" The fancy man at behind the desk asks in a British accent. Ha. Funny because this is an Italian restaurant.
"Oh, yes, uh. Ethan Dolan?" I ask, not sure if that's what I was supposed to say. Didn't think Ethan would bring me to some fancy place like this...
His eyes widen slightly at the name and he laughs nervously. "Oh yes, uh. Right this way miss." Then the fancy man steps out from behind the desk, and starts walking deeper into the restaurant, and I'm guessing I should follow.
Then we walk into view of a familiar, mysterious boy and he suddenly looks up from his phone as we make eye contact and he smirks. He's dressed in a usual black t-shirt and black jeans. Black boots, ruffled hair, tattooed arms, chains dangling; all the normal chizz.
"Here you are miss. Let me know if you two need anything and I'll be back in a few minutes to take your order."
As I settle my self into a seat in front of Ethan, I nod. "Thank you."
For a few seconds I become my old awkward self and don't look up into Ethan's staring eyes, but I know I have to so...I look up.
"Don't be trying to keep your pretty little face away from me." He chuckles and my face grows beat red but I try not to show it, but I know it's useless. "Now what took you so long? I was starting to think that you were going to stand me up. And I don't get stood up." He grins.
"Sorry about that. I kind of totally ran into someone's car and could've died and had to get a lift over here, but let's make this about you never being stood up, mister I'm all that and a bag of chips." It's my turn to grin.
Ethan licks his bottom lip. "Oh I'm sorry miss girl who just moved here and now thinks she can run the place. Well I'm sorry; the jobs already taken bucko."
"No I think I'm sorry; your boss just called and fired you. Looks like there's an opening! Oops. Now it looks like it's taken by me." Then I smirk, kind of proud of myself because I've never been so "edgy" before.
Ethan pretends to bow down to me. " Touché, touché." He claps his hands. "You know, I think you're probably the most stubborn girl I've met. Usually they're all dropping at my feet, begging for me to love them; but not you. And I like that..."
"I try." I shrug, trying to ignore the phrase, all dropping at my feet.
A few seconds of a lingering silence passes. "So who are you Ashtyn Blake?" Suddenly his tone is serious.
The questions takes me aback. "What do you mean?"
"I mean who are you really? Tell me who you are." Then something that honestly scares me spreads across Ethan Dolan's face: a genuine smile. Not a sly, seductive smile. A real, sincere smile.
It melts my heart. Do not fall for this boy Ashtyn Blake. Don't you dare. "Uh, well..."
Then I tell him who I am; minus Grayson. I tell him where I was from and why I moved here: to go to college, which isn't technically a lie.
Then he tells me who he is; also minus Grayson. He did mention that he had been in slight trouble in the past, but that he's "renewed" himself from it. Didn't say it was anything major, so the thing about his family hating him wasn't really cleared up for me any.
Somewhere in the middle of us telling each other our life stories, fancy man came back and we ordered some mad good spaghetti and ate all that was on our plates.
"Whoo, I'm full." Ethan drops his fork in his bowl. "You ready to go before I eat the place out?" He laughs and I nod.
"Then let me go pay for our food and I'll drive you home? Because I know your car is totaled, right?"
"Yep, and hey, you wouldn't happen to have a chain or whatever to like, pull my car would you?" I ask as we stand from our table.
"Of course I do! Who doesn't?" A familiar question.
"Apparently no one."
Then Ethan goes and pays, and we receive stares from multiple old people because we definitely don't look like we belong here. We walk outside and I see Grayson's poor, abused Porsche right where Kaleb left it.
Ethan leaves me at the beat up car as he goes and drives his Jeep, that's obviously had a nice paint job done to, over to me, and hooks the Porsche up to the back of it.
He opens the passenger door open. "For you miss stubborn." He grins.
"Why thank you mister bag of Lays." Then I smirk, and he playfully rolls his eyes and hops into the driver side.
After I show him the directions to Gray's place, I come to a fat, slightly gut wrenching realization: I'm not any closer to figuring out who he his than I was three hours ago. Damn.
"I guess here you are." Ethan puts his Jeep in park, but leaves it running after pulling far enough into the driveway that he can leave Grayson's car without it being in the middle of the road.
"I guess here I am." I sigh and unbuckle my seat belt.
"It was nice seeing another side of you tonight rather than the stuck up side." He smiles a teeth filled smile.
"Same for you, you dick." Then I flash him a wink.
"Ha ha, very funny." Then another few seconds of silence passes of Ethan staring at my lips and I know what's about to come.
Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do-
Then our lips collide for a couple seconds before I pull away. Well you did it anyways.
Red faced and butterfly filled I say, "bye mister 'ran the city but doesn't now because I do'." Then I step out of the Jeep.
"Have a good night miss beautiful." Then I close the door with a thud and a smile spread across my face.
I unhook Gray's Porsche, still dreading telling him what happened, and watch Ethan drive off.
Walking up to the front door I sigh, then turn the knob and step through the door.
Immediately, I spot Gray standing by the window, and the look on his face makes my smile definitely fade.
Jaw clenched, "What...did you do...to my precious baby?"
