I'm Fine (Save Me)

Chapter 4

I went into the hall bathroom and entered a stall, trying to calm my breathing. I couldn't believe how bad I fucked up. Why didn't I get dressed in the shower stall like usual? Cause I thought no students would be here for awhile. Dammit how could I be so stupid?

What if Hunter tells someone? I've never had a panic attack at school and I really didn't want that to change. Okay just take deep breaths, in and out. I just kept that up till my breathing and heartrate slowed down. 

Now think rationally Cameron, what would Hunter even say to anyone? "Cameron has some bruises", that'd be plain stupid. Though I don't know how bad the bruises are either so there's that,  I just couldn't look. Either way it's just bruises, that's not worthwhile enough to share. 

Okay I need to just stay calm, and act like nothing happened.

Out of anyone why'd it have to be Hunter Clemonte that saw the bruises. Hunter is the captain of the basketball team. I had always been aware of him, I mean he's a good-looking guy, his leather jacket and quiet/mysterious persona only adding to his sex appeal. I'm saying this in a totally nonsexual way. I mean a guy can be aware of the sexual appeal of other guys.

All day I've noticed Hunter repeatedly staring at me. At first I thought i had something on me, but I checked myself over in the bathroom and that wasn't it. Then I started paying attention and realized that his  stare looked like he was analyzing me. It was freaking me out, I felt like he could see inside me and all the secrets that I hold close.

My friends were talking about how Tyler, our teammate, was having a party tonight. They asked if I was going, I didn't even have to think about my answer it was an immediate "Hell yes".

I loved parties, it was the only time I could just let loose. Though I had a feeling tonight I'd need more than just alcohol to get me out of my head. I dreaded what I'd be coming home to today.
