"Ok" You sifted Kageyama's fringe out of his dark eyelashes with your pinkies, supporting a thin comb and scissors in your hands. "I'll be careful, so you don't have to scrunch your eyes closed like that" you chuckled.
"I don't think that's why he's doing that Dove-chan" Tsukishima looked absolutely riddled with cunning looks as he glanced over at you both with sharp eyes. Hinata and Tsukishima had both pinched desk chairs out of your room to sit on, making the bathroom pretty free of open space as you were all crammed in.
"Enlighten me then Tsukki" You frowned and blew hot air arrogantly out your nose towards him.
Kageyama had his head back in the sink with a towel under his neck so he didn't get a cramp. You'd decided to wash his hair again in warm water so he didn't catch a cold from trimming his hair while it was cold and wet.
You were standing above Kageyama, leaning over his face because he was lying back in a make-shift hairdresser's chair Kiyoko's mum had lent you.
"Well" The blonde brushed his glasses up his nose, "Kageyama can see straight down your shirt at that angle".
You recoiled quickly, hands up by your side as Kageyama peeled one eyes open, registering that you'd moved away. "Oh... I see... sorry I didn't realise Kageyama-kun".
He looked up at you with almost a little bit of a blush, "it's fine, I didn't look".
"Ok, I'm all done rinsing your hair so if you sit up I'll dry it off a bit" You seized a small fresh towel off the bathroom counter, and as the setter sat up sluggishly you placed it over his hair. Massaging through the towel, you gently pulled away all the leftover moisture in his warm jet-black hair.
After drying his hair so it wouldn't drip, you began your work methodically cutting his hair in neat places to take it out of his eyes, while you did, Hinata began talking to you.
"Where did you learn how to cut hair again (Y/n)-san?" The orange-locked boy was standing by your side, amazed at your swiftness with the small scissors and comb. It seemed like anything could impress this one.
"Oh, I worked in a hairdressing place back in Little Kyoto". You found yourself smiling, enjoying the soft and peaceful look on Kageyama's face as he closed his eyes and sat still for you.
"Wow! You can do so many things! And you know so many people! When do I get to be cool like you (Y/n)-senpai!!" He blubbered with large tears pooling down his cheeks like a toddler.
"Ah, don't treat me like an upperclassman Hinata-kun" you giggled to try to relinquish your apparent awkwardness, "we're the same age!". Hinata took a little while before he started nodded feverishly, scratching his collarbone muscle a little from over his shirt.
After a few more minutes of careful trimming you grabbed your hooked up hairdryer and gently ruffled Kageyama's black hair. As he sat up, he didn't really have a change in expression looking through the mirror. You'd cut his hair back to exactly how he liked to have it, and didn't change a think. After all, you kind of liked his flat spiked hair, it was hot.
Not that he needed to hear that.
Just as you began rinsing the combs knotted with black tangles, Kiyoko knocked patiently on the bathroom door and peaked inside. Her smile was warm but you could tell she seemed a little urgent with her words. The girl's stance you quickly likened to that of a deer nervously perched before water, and you realised you'd accidentally left her alone to fend off Tanaka and Nishinoya.
"Oh, sorry (Y/n)-san, but would you mind cutting Hinata-kun's hair after dinner? The food is beginning to cool down" She drummed her fingers impatiently, probably the only time you'd ever seen the young woman look so flustered.
