Finally Free

It's Christmas time once again in Middleton. And after a long, stressful week of school, Kim Possible is finally off on Christmas Break. And thankfully, she had prepared for everything beforehand. Gifts, decorations, etc. Now all she could do was just relax and enjoy her down time until the most wonderful time of the year. On Friday, while home from school, Kim and Ron were chilling in her living room at her house. Kim laid back and watched her favorite TV show, Teen Spy, a show with which she could easily relate. And Ron, well, Ron rambled on about something, as only he could.

"So, KP, it's almost Christmas!" he said cheerfully. "Are ya stoked?"

"To be finally free from school, big time," Kim replied.

"Well, no doubt. But I'm talking about for the arrival of Santa Claus."

Kim sat up on the couch and sighed, saying, "Ron, please. Not this whole Santa Claus is real thing again. I'm too tired."

"All I'm saying, Kim, is if Santa Claus is fake, why is he everywhere? Malls, commercials, toy stores?"

"Okay, Ron. Two things. One: you know just as well as I do that those mall Santa's are 100% fake advertisements. And two: people only use Santa to make money off of a myth."

"Which is downright DISRESPECTFUL!" Ron shouted.

"Yeah!" Rufus chittered.

"What're you gonna do? Form a protest?" Kim joked.

"Well, somebody has to! I mean, if we continue to misuse and abuse the good name of Santa Claus, then what are the chances he'll keep putting us on his nice list? Which, may I remind you, he checks not once, but twice?"

"Ron, please. I'm begging you," Kim pleaded. "Don't make yourself look more ridiculous than you already do."

"What's ridiculous is that jolly old Saint Nick has been taken for granted for far too long, and I refuse to stand by and let it continue!"

And with that, Ron, with Rufus on his shoulder, stormed out of Kim's living room and out the front door, slamming it behind him. Kim giggled and shook her head. That's when her cell phone rang. It was Monique, who was calling her during her shift at Club Banana.

Kim: Hello?

Monique: Hey, girl! Merry Christmas!

Kim: Merry almost Christmas, Monique. How's your shift?

Monique: Chill. For now. Like you said, almost Christmas.

Kim: Right?

Monique: So, you know what you wanna get Ron yet?

Kim: I dunno. What kinda stuff does he like?

Monique: Um, I would hope you'd know the answer to that, Kim. Since A: you know him better than I do. And B: you two have been best friends since day one.

Kim: I know that. But there's still some stuff about Ron I don't know yet.

Monique: That's what keeps the friendship exciting.

Kim: I guess.

Monique: Well, I gotta go, girl. Business is starting back up. But, I'll call you when I get off.

Kim: Okay. Later, Monique.

Monique: Later, Kim!

Kim hung up the phone and lied back down on her couch, prepared to take a short nap. Being able to finally take a long-awaited, well-deserved respite from the struggle and strain of everyday life sent her into a deep, soothing slumber. One which seemed nearly impossible for her to wake up from, nor would she want to. If things continued to go as calmly and smoothly as this, then this Christmas would be perhaps the best one yet.
