The party was a huge success. A small handful of the neighbors showed up, as well as some of Kim's family members. There was singing, dancing, games, and exchanging of gifts. It was pure fun-filled jubilation for everybody. Once it had died down and most of the guests had left, Kim and Ron relaxed in the living room, still stewing from the festivities.
"Boy, that was some party," said Kim.
"Sure was, KP," said Ron. "And it was all thanks to Santa Claus."
"Now Ron," said Kim. "How do we know it wasn't just divine intervention?"
"Come on, KP," said Ron. "We rescue Santa Claus, ride home on his sleigh, and then we come home to a fully decorated party in the living room, and you're gonna suggest that it was 'divine intervention'?"
Kim then looked back at her parents. Her mother admired her new necklace.
"You know what, let's agree to disagree," she said with a smile.
"You're right," said Ron. "Merry Christmas, KP."
"Merry Christmas, Ron."
They toasted their glasses of egg nog in celebration. Not only was their mission one to remember, but it also made for a very special Christmas to remember.
