TW: Abuse, Drugs (In Use)
The two boys laid by the pool in silence, Boris had always taken Theodore outside by it whenever they were high, knowing he was more prone to those haunting memories he hated so much. They both just lay there, staring at the sky quietly through slightly squinted eyes due to it being daytime when they had done this which was something they did quite rarely.
Boris' head turned to the side to look over at Theodore with an expression the other couldn't quite read, a few his soft, black, curls falling over his face. His brown eyes seemed to skim over every one of the smaller boys features, humming contently to himself without noticing until Theodore had turned his head to look at him after hearing it.
Theodore smiled softly, trying to read the others expression or at least his eyes but he wasn't able to tell what Boris was feeling at this moment like he usually could. His hand reached up to pat the fluffy hair on top of Boris' head with a larger smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "So soft.. You're like a... Like a curly haired dog." He chuckled out slightly, twisting a few curls around his finger before moving his hand away.
Boris found the chuckle more contagious than he would've if he was sober, laughing along slightly and letting out a small bark-like noise which only caused him to laugh a little more, hearing the other join in with him for a short while before it finally died down. "You mean like Popchik?" He said quietly after a while once he had actually processed he should probably respond with a dog he knew, or at least a breed of dog that had curly hair.
Theodore nodded at the taller male as he propped himself up on his elbows, looking down at the water of the pool with interest, watching how it moved and sometimes rippled if a bug flew into it. "Like Popchik.." He muttered out after a few seconds of the silence.
The two faded back into silence, staying like that for maybe a few minutes even if it felt like hours to them, before Boris suddenly blurted out, not being able to think properly, "My dad punched me last night.."
Theodore was taken aback by that, his eyes wide as he looked down at him. His hand moved over to hold the others in a form of comfort incase he needed it. "Do you want me to get my medkit for it..? Did he do anything else? If you want to talk about it of course."
Boris let out a sigh, looking down at their hands before his attention turned towards Theodore, as he sat himself up. "I'm alright, Potter.. Just glad you're letting me stay... And he didn't do more, just punch.." He said quietly, although his eyes told another story.
Theodore noticed the look in his eyes but stayed quiet about it, not wanting to push him to talk about something he didn't want to. "You're welcome to come here whenever you want Boris.. I'll take care of you each time and tend to wounds if you ever need me to alright?" He said softly, a reassuring smile forming on his lips.
Boris slowly nodded, a faint and weak smile tugging at his lips as he nudged Theodore. "Thanks.. I guess if parents are out we can have snacks and watch movie, eh?" He said with a small nudge to the others side, a soft chuckle escaping him as he felt the nudge get returned.
Theodore let out an almost silent content hum as he saw Boris already cheering up, glad that he had distracted himself from the thoughts of his father by talking about what they could do tonight. "Yeah! We'll probably have the house to ourselves this time as well.. My dad and Xandra are usually out a lot now." He explained with a smile, glad that his dad was now out of the house a lot but Boris didn't need to know anything about that yet, he was struggling himself and Theo didn't want to add more things onto the weight he was already carrying.
Boris smiled wider than before, letting himself lay down again and look up at the sky with squinted eyes, he hated the sun but it was worth laying in it by the pool to help Theodore with them memories if they ever entered his mind. "Having house to ourselves is good.. We can do whatever we'd like then, eh?" He muttered, he knew the answer already though so didn't even let Theo respond. "Ha! We could leave pranks around it for your father and Xandra to find."
Theodore laid down beside Boris a few seconds after, just as he began to speak. He listened to him, as he rested an arm above his eyes to shield them from the sun a bit, his full attention only on Boris. He opened his mouth to answer his question but was quickly cut off but that short laugh of the others, chuckling at the suggestion. "That could be fun." He said softly, and that was the last spoken sentence for a while.
The two boys continued to lay there, now in complete silence apart from small breaths or Boris muttering to himself in Russian almost silently, which Theodore didn't question. They laid there for hours now, not minutes that felt like them, just enjoying each others company in the silence they lay in, the sun slowly moving from East to West, Boris' hand gently resting on top of Theo's, although it was on its side. And that's how the rest of their day, or at least their time by the pool, went before they went inside.

A/N
Hi everyone! I hope you're enjoying so far, I'm sorry for the slow update but I've been busy, and stressed, with school. Hopefully I'll be able to get the next chapter out soon but I'm not entirely sure when it actually will be out.
If anyone would like to give feedback that would help me greatly with what I should work on, I'm kind of new to writing apart from a few, maybe 4, short stories I've written out.
See you all soon, hopefully, with the third chapter!
