"I have to go to school, Uncle Peter." I said while trying to run down the stairs and stuff some books in my bag at the same time.
"Ok, have f-" I barely heard him begin to yell before I slammed the front door.
I knew that constantly ignoring him was wrong, but I hadn't been able to open up to anyone since the death of my parents. Even if he was family."Hey, VJ." I heard a familiar voice yell. I turned to see James, the captain of the football team, and his buddies heading towards me.
"Hey, dick." I yelled back.
As soon as I said those words, his face went stiff and he started to walk faster. I just rolled my eyes, knowing he wouldn't hurt a fly.
"What did you say, bitch?" He furiously asked through gritted teeth.
"It's bad enough that my initials spell out the nickname for a girl's vagina, ok. I don't need you and your wannabe Justin Bieber jocks mocking me every five minutes." I snapped. I began to walk off, but quickly turned once more.
"And if you ever call me a bitch again, I will make sure no more 'VJ's' come your way again. Got it?""Yes ma'am." He cowardly replied.
With that, I felt satisfied. I turned back towards the direction of the school and shoved my earbuds into my ears before blaring Pandora.

When I finally reached the school-twenty minutes later- I headed straight for my locker. I had five minutes before Mrs. Rubock, my Biology teacher, declared me late. She was a stickler for punctuality.I pulled my books out of my bag before quickly shoving it into my locker. I slammed it shut and managed to make to make it into the classroom as the first period bell rang.
I sighed with relief before noticing every eye in the classroom was on me. I looked to Mrs. Rubock, and saw she was going over the roll.
"Hello, Miss Jones. How was your walk to school?" She asked, not even looking up at me.
"It was a little windy." I sarcastically replied. That surely made her look up at me. But, the look she gave said 'Don't mess with me, bitch'.
"Think maybe next time you could, I don't know, try to be on-time for my class?"
"Depends on how Mother Nature feels." I shrugged. The whole class laughed at that one, but quickly quieted down when her gaze drifted from me to them.
"Just take your seat." She snapped.
I began to walk towards my regular seat in her class, when the principal walked in.
"Miss Jones, would you come with me?" He asked.
"For Christ's sake, would you people stop with the 'Miss Jones'? My. Name. Is. Viper." I groaned.
"Miss Jones, in this school, I don't care what your name is, I will call you what I please." He snapped.
I just rolled my eyes and entered the empty hallways once more. "What'd I do this time."
"Nothing, I just need you to go with Mr. Daniels to the art room. The teacher, Mr. Sanders, requested your service." He irritatedly replied before walking towards the front office, leaving me and Blake Daniels by ourselves.
"Jesus, everyone here is so damn proper." I mumbled.
"I take it you aren't a fan of proper?" Blake asked.
"Yea, it's annoying. I hate being called by my last name."
He chuckled and held out his hand. "I'm Blake D-"
"Blake Daniels, Captain of the Soccer team." I cut him off. "I know."
When I said that, he looked disappointed. Like he wanted someone to not know who he was.
"Well," I began. "We should probably head to the art room." I said before turning around.
"Yea, that." I heard him mumble and then sigh.
I wanted to ask what he meant, but I didn't. I wouldn't let myself fall for another guy. No matter how hot he was.
When we finally reached the art room, the door was cracked and there were two glasses propping it open.
I picked one glass up, and Blake got the other. I, then, pushed the door open more before hearing the connection of glass with tile floors and the faint scream of a frightened girl.
