Third P.O.V

Our heroes are chilling outside the Pokémon Center in a field, Leah had just sent the wild Meowth she found in Demorah's lab in the nearby forest and proceeded to read a book on Pokémon biology under a tree while Gladion and Eclipse were sleeping next to her. Her necklace's pendant made from shards of a fire stone was glistening in the morning sunlight with a soothing morning breeze, Leah deemed it as the perfect morning to do some reading. The girl is secretly a bookworm, but she won't admit it.

Flare was playing with Snowy and Dawn while his mother watched the three young Vulpix have fun. "Flare is very energetic today." Pascal pointed out. "And Queen is just being a mother and watching them play." Mohn added. The golden furred Ninetales's ears twitched upon hearing her new name. "I think she heard you, Mohn." Lucie stated. Queen walked up to Mohn. "Ninetales," she said, she grabbed a Pokéball from Pascal's bag and gave Mohn said Pokéball while she sat in front of him as she waited for him to throw the Pokéball and catch her. Mohn was speechless and dumbfounded, he didn't know what to do. Being tired of having to wait, Queen pawed the Pokéball sending her inside of it, the ball flickered thrice and sparkled indicating that Queen has been caught. "Woah, Queen chose you, Father! It took Leah a week to earn her trust!" Lillie exclaimed happily.

Meanwhile with Leah, Eclipse's ear twitched, resulting in the fox Pokémon to jolt awake and ready to protect its beloved trainer, Leah knew something was wrong. It was too peaceful for her partner to jolt awake like this. She put down her book and glanced around her only to find an injured Growlithe whimpering for help. The puppy Pokémon was being attacked by what seemed to be an Ultra Beast, the Ultra Beast was the one Leah feared the most, it looked like a clown, but without a face, its head looked like a multi-colored disco ball, that thing was a Blacephelon and for some reason was attacking the poor Growlithe. Leah didn't know what to do, two of her Pokémon are weak against it and Celestia causes normal damage. Leah sent out Celestia, hoping it was her best bet. "Eclipse make sure Growlithe is safe, I'll send that thing back into the filthy hole it came from! Celestia, come on out!" Leah exclaimed as her small equine Pokémon appeared from the Pokéball. "Celestia, it's up to you, use Psybeam!" I exclaimed. Celestia summoned a beam of psychic power, but after it hit Blacephelon, the Fireworks Pokémon used Mind Blown which sent the Unique Horn Pokémon flying towards the tree. Leah thought it was over, as Celestia was weak and had trouble standing, but then the pony stood up and started glowing. Leah knew that Celestia usually glowed when it was healing someone, but this was different from the usual glow the girl is used to seeing from that Pokémon and from a blink of an eye, the Ponyta had turned into a majestic Galarian Rapidash. "You evolved, wow, you're so beautiful, Celestia!" Leah praised. Celestia whinnied cheerfully before going back to business. "Right, use Double Edge!" Leah told the equine, but Celestia didn't use Double Edge, instead used Psycho Cut a move she just learned that replaced Double Edge. Psycho Cut sent Blacephelon back into the wormhole.

Leah pat her newly evolved partner and sent it back into its Pokéball after telling it that it did a great job. She glanced at a dumbfounded Gladion, Eclipse and Growlithe. "What? Don't look at me like that, you know that I'm capable of way more." Leah told Eclipse and Gladion before tending to Growlithe. "You're not wrong, but you just yote an Ultra Beast back into the Ultra Wormhole." Gladion told her, the boy was utterly impressed. "Gladion, It's nothing really and besides you're the one with Silvally a Pokémon created to defeat Ultra Beasts." Leah told him while using her last potion to heal Growlithe. "There all healed." Leah told the puppy, which barked happily in response and its fluffy cream colored tail was wagging. "You like Eclipse, do you Growlithe?" Leah asked Growlithe. Growlithe nodded. "Well what will you say if you can stay with her?" She suggested and grabbed a Great Ball, showing it to the puppy Pokémon. "Lithe?" Growlithe asked and sniffed the Great Ball curiously and pressed the ball's button thing sending Growlithe inside the Great Ball. It flickered thrice and sparkled indicating that Growlithe has been caught. Leah sent out Growlithe. "Right, now I have to find a name for you, how about Marley?" The girl asked. Growlithe shaked its head saying no. "No huh. I too agree. What about Romeo?" Leah suggested. "Growlithe, lithe!" It exclaimed cheerfully. "Romeo it is then!" Leah exclaimed. Leah picked up her book and said, "Alright let's go introduce you to the others!" She cheerfully told Romeo as she motioned Gladion and Eclipse to follow her.

Leah lead Gladion, Eclipse, and her new partner, Romeo to where the others were. To break the ice Leah spoke up, "Gladion, can I ask you a question?" She asked. Gladion shrugged his shoulders, "Ask away." He replied. "A-am I annoying?" Leah asked. Gladion stopped in his tracks and stared at the tearing up gingerette. "Be honest, am I annoying?" She repeated, her voice was shaking. Gladion was too dumbfounded to even reply. Leah sighed, not giving Gladion the time to answer, "I-i guess I am." She muttered to herself. Soon Leah was crying a waterfall and Gladion hugged her to comfort her by instinct. "You're not annoying, Leah, you're amazing and brilliant and if others think otherwise than that's their problem, and to be honest, it hurts me to see you like this because I well, I love you, Leah, I love you more than a friend." Gladion told his sobbing best friend. "Please tell me your lying." Leah told the blonde boy through sobs. Gladion shook his head. "I'm not lying, Leah. I love you, more than anything." Gladion told her. Leah's sobbing calmed down and became quiet whimpers until she stopped whimpering. "I-i love you too, Gladion." Leah told the blonde boy and hugged him.

And so Leah had caught herself a new partner and Queen, the Ninetales has opened up to our heroes. What will happen next? Stay tuned as the journey continues!
