At the cafeteria, Caroline and Rebekah are cleaning up the mess from the dance.

"So how are you doing?"

"Do you mean about me getting possessed by my wretched mother or me missing another dance?"

"I'm sorry... I know you liked hated her and everything but still... I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry about your teacher. He seemed like a nice guy."

"By the way, have you seen my sister?"

"No... When was the last time you saw her?"

"Last night. I went to bed while she was talking to Kol. I got a text from her earlier, saying she was heading to school early for the cleanup."

"Let me check the gym."

Rebekah walks out into the hallway and stops when Alaric appears before her.

"You're suppose to be dead."

"I am."

Before Rebekah can attack, Alaric pins her against the lockers. He takes out a white oak stake...

"How did-"

"You and Klaus have become closer lately. Thanks to Ariel, right? Now see while your mother was in possession of your body, Klaus shouldn't have shown her or you this. Esther told me that Klaus kept it if you or him ever wanted to end it all... Maybe now is the perfect time and you have the honor of going first."

Before Alaric can stab her, Caroline throws him against the lockers as Rebekah grabs the stake and stabs him with it. Instead of being engulfed by flames, he pulls the stake out of his chest.

"Why don't you look at that?"

"Oh my god..."

"Rebekah, we need to go!"

Rebekah vamp speeds away and before Caroline can do the same...

"Sure you don't want to stay, Caroline? If you left it would be very unfortunate for Ariel."

"...That text was from you wasn't it? Where's my sister?!"

"You'll see her in a bit."

Alaric vamp speeds to Caroline and snaps her neck.

Flashback

During the night, Ariel and Kol are sitting on top of the Mystic Falls clock tower. She is hiding whatever she is drawing from him.

"I like here, thanks for bringing me up here."

"I thought that you would."

"Hey, do you feel if I became a vampire would it improve or worsen me as a person?"

"It works differently for everyone... Why do you ask?"

"Well when my sister became one, it bettered her as a person. Don't get me wrong, I still loved my sister even when she was human but she was so insecure and always had her flaws. Mostly because of Elena. Care Bear became more mature and stronger because of vampirism."

"But your sister has better self-control than all my family combined which is impressive. Almost a year old vampire beats five vampires who are a thousand years old... But are you asking because you're thinking about becoming one yourself?"

"There are times when I did think about it. When I didn't want Caroline to be alone after me and mom would be gone. I even thought about it from the time I spent with you."
