I wake up after another nightmare haunting my dreams ever since I turned eighteen two weeks ago! A new year without my mate by my side.

I've been seeing those green eyes pleading calling out to me,my mate's energy is draining,I can feel it through the bond,even though it's not fully formed.

My wolf has been in a frenzy she's going crazy, we've been driving around trying to find her scent just for one sign that she's not gone yet but nothing.

"We need to find our mate!" My wolf says yet again after another restless night. I can feel myself get weaker but it's not as severe as my mate's.

"Morning Fin"

"How's my favorite beta?" He asked hugging me.

"I'm your only beta,the one beta that's dying slowly"

"Same dream?" I nod wolfing down my breakfast.

"I wish I could do something Bil" he sympathizes and I shrug.

"I'll find my mate soon,I just hope i won't be too late,can I skip school? please Fin"

"I'm sorry kiddo not today,I don't know how I'll explain it to Mom and Dad,I know they're worried about your mate too but I wouldn't want them to think we're putting everything about your mate ahead of everything,plus your principal threatened to send child services here to know what's wrong,humans are really nosy" his nose scrunches up annoyed.

I guess he's right,my mate is important but so is keeping our secret safe,if I continue missing school the man will send child services,I might be legal right now but not yet off the hook.

Why was I made to go to such a good school where the principal and staff actually care about their students?!

"That reminds me,you have to break up with that human boy Billie,your mate is waiting for you and he demanding attention from you is getting on my nerves"

"Ok,say hi to Claudia for me when she wakes up" taking my keys and bag,time to go through another day of torture.

Fuck! I was hoping not to bump into him today,my wolf growled at me for not being able to break up with him yet.

"Hey Luca" I draw turning around closing my locker.

"Where have you been I was worried I tried calling for five days and the whole weekend your phone was off,I really missed you babe" he pulled me kissing my forehead making me cringe inwardly as his friends sorrounded us.

They don't like me and I don't like them,I wonder why I'm still dating the guy yet.

"Billie we need to go we're almost late for class and Fin will kill us if he finds out we were tardied,how's your mouth sore by the way?" My protector and second best friend, Slevin came pulling me away.

"Mouth sore?!" Lucas screamed at me. Damn Slevin! She couldn't find a better lie?

"Not a mouth sore I just went to see this fucking dentist who gave me an injection cause I hurt my dumb ass falling down the stairs and suggested full rest,that meant no phone Fin took it away but I'm good no––" Slevin pulled me away saving me from telling a dumb lie.
