Shadows roam the walls
Crawling up the side of the building
Climbing into your rooms
There are dragons, twisting and turning on the ceiling
There is blood dripping from your lips
There is plaster on your face
There are hands on your hips
And you lay there in temporary bliss
Before you start to feel the demons crawling at your back
You try to live your everyday life
But it's hard when there's a man following you home every night
You don't know why he's there
And you don't think to ask
You just keep walking forward
Hoping he'll go past
You don't question the woman in the window
Just throw grapes at her and run
Because their not really there
You sleep with a knife underneath you pillowcase
You feel like it keeps you safe
But sometimes you wonder if the blade has a mind of it's own
If one day, it will strike back like everyone else has
You move it, next to you bed and try to forget
