Blood & Words

Words can hurt more than punches ever will

' Witch '

' Druggie '

' Crazy '

The words you say can mean the world to some people

And nothing to others

' Leave me alone '

' What are you gonna cry '

' They are real '

' Look at her seeing things in the walls again '

No matter what you say no one cares

' Well, maybe you should just try and ignore them '

' If you respond, it'll only make it worse '

But you have to say something, you can't just sit there and take it like some sorta statue

So you fight back trying to hurt them with your own words

' Oh, I'm the crazy one. I'm not the one who that look was a good idea '

' At least I have better ways to spend my time than being a jerk '

It works, for a while

They back down

The insults grow quieter for awhile

Until the day when they come back full force

' Ew, did you see those two? '

' Seriously people like that should not be allowed to do that '

' Yo, lesbos '

They have found a new thing to torment

As they always do

But you don't care now

Your used to it

In the back of your head you can here your mother's voice telling you, '' They'll stop if you don't respond ''

But they don't

They never stop

Why would it be any different this time?

They spread rumors about you

' I heard that she practices witchcraft in the bathroom '

' Well, I heard she sells drugs '

Eventually the rumors get to administration

And your stuck sitting in the office, exasperated of trying to explain that you don't practice witchcraft or sell drugs or anything like that

The kids snicker when you get back to class

But you keep your head down

It's better if you don't talk about it

Less than an hour later your walking home

Holding hands with someone

Your not doing anything, nothings wrong

'' Oh, look isn't it these two again ''

'' You two really shouldn't be doing that ''

You ignore them and keep walking

Until you feel something hard and sharp hit the back of your neck

You turn around and see a rock fall to the ground

You look back to see the kids snickering

You roll your eyes and keep walking

You know your not the only one

They don't mean anything by it

Kids will be kids

But it still hurt

It will always hurt

Just the same way it did when you were ten years old and got called the weird kid cause you thought there were faces in the clouds

You remind yourself it doesn't matter

That one day it'll all be over

But it doesn't help

So you remind yourself that your not the only

And that they don't have to be a part of your life

One day you'll be free

One day it won't matter

It's just sad that today is not that day
