Chapter twelve

//third person pov//

The man waited patiently at his desk at 7am in the morning.

Perfect time to have a friendly, and personal meeting.

"Meow~" The cat purred for attention. The cat jumped on the desk and walked a crossed the laptop, pushing random keys.

"Ugh, Ringo!" The man scolded his cat. He grabbed his cat and placed him upon his lap, leaning back on his chair. "I told you not to do that anymore, boy." He said, stroking the grey fur as the little animal let out a small purr once more. He smiled at that.

Knock knock knock!

Edd regained his posture, sitting straight and going back to his new normal stern state. "Go Ringo." He whispered, slightly pushing Ringo away.

The little animal jumped off his lap and went to go sleep him the little cat house in the corner. "Good boy." He whispered for the last time. "Come in!" He yelled.

Then and there two males walked in and made theirselves comfortable in the two chairs that were placed across from Edd's desk.

"Sup Edd." The man in blue, Tom, said.

"Hi guys. I wanna talk about what happened a couple hours ago." He said.

"I told you guys I didn't start that alarm!" Matt whined, slightly slamming the palm of his hand on his desk.

"Oh yes it was and you know it!" Tom accused, pointing his finger.

"No actually, I think I know what caused that alarm." He confessed. "Remember when we were hiding in that random lab?" He asked, getting their full attention by the memory.

"You mean the time where Matt almost got us caught by moving random glass bottles around?" Tom brought up, "eyeing" Matt who sat at his right.

"That was an accident, I told you!" He said, crossing his arms as he leaned back on the chair, fed up with Tom's bickering.

"Anyway!" Edd intervened. "Pay attention. When we were hiding, remember Tord walking in there and calling for a girl named Y/n?" He asked, looking at the two of them for an answer.

"Yeah, I remember." Tom growled at the sound of Tord's name.

"What about?" Matt asked.

"I think she was the one who made the alarms go off." He said. "I think she was a prisoner who managed to escape. But the way Tord yelled at her, it confuses me. He yelled like he actually cared about her, but she was being sent to a white room of sort. Remember that video we got? She's that same girl! Why would he care about her, if she is going in a white room by his orders?!" Edd questioned. "And she did almost kill him, but she didn't. She had scars on her arms to. And he cared that they did. So what kind of relationship do they have?!"

Edd was still be on confused by the actions that went on in that room.

Were they friends?

Or was she just an unstable prisoner who escaped?

It didn't make much sense.

Tord, the red leader of the red army caring for a girl? Doesn't make sense at all.

"We need to get this girl." Edd said. "And of coarse, everyone else."

"Wait, how are we gonna do that?!" Tom questioned.

"I don't think we have enough men for that!" It was Matt's turn to speak up.

"I know, and that is why we are training for the next few weeks. I don't know when, but when I think the time is ready we head out." He confirmed.

"You think?" Tom questioned him, raising his voice at him. "Okay, so your just guessing on this one?"

"I mean, I guess." Edd said, sinking into his seat.

"We're dying on the first try..."

"Fine, we'll start training them in an hour, then stop at what? 7pm?" Matt questioned as well.

"Exactly Matt! Just what I wanted to hear!" Edd said, smiling at his friend.

"Yes!" Matt congratulated himself.

"Okay, But before we do all that can I at least have some rest? We've been up all night." Tom said.

"Obviously. I'm so tired."

"You're tired everyday, Edd."

"Yes Matt, I know."

And with that, they all stood from there seats and walked out the office.

Before Edd walked out the room, he let Ringo out, then taking another glance at the window behind the desk.

Trees. Nothing but trees.

The man sighed, then turning off the light, leaving the room moonlight-dimmed and silent.

And extremely lonely.
