6: The Wolves
-

Marinette ran. Obviously she was not going to tell anyone once she got home, that was traumatic and nobody would understand. But she then realized she isn't gonna make it fast enough and she stopped running. And soon enough she also realized she was lost. "Dang it" she mumbled, looking around her.

Despite being midday It looked as if it was still night in the woods. The treetops were so thick, she could barely see any light. Then she started panicking. Marinette fell to the ground in complete disparity.

"I'm gonna be lost forever... This was a bad idea, I should've just stuck up insults in his fat idiot face and just.. and just..." She started crying. Then,
Marinette heard some heavy panting behind her. She stopped crying and looked behind her and found a few wolves just a few yards away. "Oh my goodness" she gasped, falling further onto her butt and scooting away.

She grabbed onto a twig she found and just kept it in front of her like it was going to help. "Stay away. I'm no good for food! I'm too bony and no meat whatsoever... Oh well that's kinda a lie" she mumbled. The wolves looked to be coming closer and she squeaked in fear as they lashed out at her.

She didn't feel any biting but she heard lot of barking and roaring. She opened her eyes and gasped. There she saw Chat Noir roaring at a small pack of wolves and clawing at them as they lashed out. He was protecting her. Why?

She cried out when she saw him get bit in his arm and his abdomen. "Chat Noir get out of there!" She screamed. He glanced behind to see her and a wolf bit into his furry neck. He howled in pain and yanked the wolf off and bashed it against the ground. Next he started throwing logs and wolves around like a maniac. And finally, he passes out on a ground of leaves.

Marinette runs over to his side and holds his face. "Oh Chat you shouldn't have done this for me... I... I should be angry but I am also... Oh my, your wounds!" She started pulling back to see his wounds better. He was bleeding heavily by his neck and breathing heavily.

She looked around and saw nobody else was here to help so she did what she had to do in the moment and get him up. She walked all the way, helping him and keeping pressure against his bleeding neck.

She somehow found the castle again. It was weird, especially since she was lost before, but it actually turned out that she went in a huge circle.

She placed Chat Noir in a chair and looked around. "Help! Someone please help him! He's bleeding!" She shouts. Nathaniel comes in along with a few other assortment of appliances, like a clock, a plate, some chairs, and even a teapot. They all panicked in horror to see their master in such a condition.

"Give me some bandages please" she told them, urging them as quickly as they can. Chat Noir may have been a horrible beast, but she can't just let him die. That would make her horrible in return. Besides, maybe if she rescued him, he would learn to see that people aren't horrible, let alone after him.

She decided right then and there that he needed to be moved to a bathtub to soak his fur and to brush it away for easy access to the wounds. "Is there a bathroom with a bathtub somewhere close by? We need to get him there-" she was cut off by a bunch of furniture starting to carry him away. Chat lulled to one side and grumbled softly. Marinette followed behind the small parade up the stairs and to a big bathroom she had never seen before.

Once Chat Noir was dumped inside the tub, she turns on the hot water and she heard him grumble a little. "This is too hot..." He said. "Well it'll help with the cuts. Shut up and don't talk, I need to concentrate" she said and she got out the bandages she had received. Pushing away fur from his cuts, she wraps the bandages gingerly and tight as possible. She secured them with a safety pin and smiled at her work.

Then she went to the neck. Obviously that was the worst wound there so she asked for a needle and some surgical thread to sew up the wound. Weirdly enough they had some on hand. Was this castle like a medical ward at one point or something? She should ask him later.

She couldn't help but feel bad when he whimpered all the while, but she tried hushing him and stroking his head as often as possible to get him to stop. When she was done, she wraps the wound up with the rest of the bandages and turned off the water.

The clock appeared along with Nathaniel, and they appeared to be discussing something important. "Can uh... I have some clothes for him??" She asked and they stop talking. "Yes! Oh yes! I will come right back with them.." the clock said.

Nathaniel looked to be smiling, though Marinette couldn't tell. "That was Marc. He's my best friend, though I do like him as more than that..." he said when he saw Marinette stare at the clock walking away. "Oh my! Well I sure do hope that works out... By the way, what ever happened to you guys?" She asked, scooting away from the tub and more to Nathaniel.

The clock came back before Nathaniel could answer. "Thank you, Marc" Marinette pats the clock and works quickly to dress and dry Chat Noir. Marc looked at Nathaniel. "You told her my name?" He asks. "Yeah. She wanted to thank you, Marc. Not surprising, she's very sweet" Nathaniel said, glancing at Marinette working hard.

Chat was asleep, so it took a team of furniture to get him to his room. Nathaniel told Marinette to stay behind because, as he puts it, Chat doesn't like it when People enter his bedroom. So there she was, back in the bedroom she was in at the beginning of the day instead, wondering if her choice in saving him was the right one.
