I walked with Iris to her and sapphires home. Going down the platform was kinda scary since we were underwater now but Iris assured it was fine. She carried sapphire so gentle despite her scales being a little rough.

However my gut told me something was wrong. As far as I knew nothing else could immediately go wrong, so I dismissed it for now. Coming into what looked like a living room Iris placed sapphire down onto her bed.

"Wouldn't her tail dry out if left out from water?" I asked. I was still in shock he's friends with a mer-pup, the kind he's been looking for and wants to protect. He admired her scale pattern from a distance, not wanting to touch them without permission.

"If left out for long, I think some sleep should do for her." Iris said. I nodded. She took off sapphire's pup vest so she could rest better.

"It looked like she was forced to open the thing that was in the sky. And seeing she didn't want to, it exhausted her to fight it as best she could." I noted as I went up and petted her back a bit to try to help her rest a bit, but some of my fur got caught in the scales and so i gently got them out and stopped.

I don't know what it is, her eyes or her personality. She must be heroic if she's apart of the paw patrol, maybe extremely kind and patient as well. Back when she didn't know me she was kind, she even had the right to wary of me.

"Yeah, she's gonna be fine." I said smiling.

I heard the faint rushing of water, thats what woke me up. However the more awake I was it went away. Lifting my head I saw Scorcher who seems relieved I was awake and Iris next to me.

"How do you feel?" Iris asked me. At this point everything came back to me. Sweetie, the sea dragon, it being free from limbo. Once again I've failed in doing the right and succeeded in doing the wrong. I closed my eyes as I reverted myself to a normal pup.

"I'm fine." Lies. I swear I heard water in the distance. I flicked my ear to hear the sound better. I'm sure now. I stood up quickly but felt dizzy and sat instead, immediately Scorcher stood next to me to help. I smiled a bit at him but for focused back onto my concern.

"Do you guys hear that?" I then walked over to the sound, it was coming from the other side of the door that lead to more of the middle of the Bay area of barkingberg. Scorcher reached up to the door button and I was too late to stop him.

"No dont-!" The rest was cut off as water flowed in. When the sea dragon landed it damaged part of the base. And as such, water flowed in. The other side of the door was basically already full of water. I held my breath as I turned back into a mer-pup and then looked around. Iris was holding what air she managed to get, fighting the water current to get out to saftey.

"I'll get you out!" I then swam to the scorcher, who was also holding his breath. I went up to him and touched noses so he can breathe and swim fast like me. He dug deep breaths after holding it for so long.

"Quick! We need to get Iris out before she drowns!" I told Scorcher as I opened the door to the platform area and pulled Iris. I locked eyes with her and she nodded. Scorcher helped move Iris through the water faster. I felt guilty this is how his first experience being a mer-pup was like but I can't control the circumstances.

The base was filling up with water fast and we were running out of time. What was left of the base's systems noticed the damage and opened the door above the platform and all the doors that still worked as that was it's emergency protocol. It allowed easy escape in case we were in deeper levels. I saw the sun and knew we were close.

Iris began to struggle, so I tried to swim faster and told scorcher to as well. But it seemed she got heavier as she stopped swimming with us. With us two we couldnt pull her up so she slowly fell back down to the base. I didnt give up cause i didnt want to loose another friend. Scorcher was telling me to just let her go but I snapped at him despite knowing it was too late to save her. Crying, I released her.

We broke the surface and  I saw the lights from our base flicker out, signaling it was ruined. I looked down. I did it again. I got the people around me hurt because of my past. I began to swim away, I didn't look back despite scorcher calling for me. They'll be better off without me. I'll go far away in the ocean or land, start a new life if possible. Maybe just travel like I used to do before I met the paw patrol.

I didn't bother taking off my puptag and collar though. I didn't feel compelled to. Maybe it was because I didn't want to cut contract completely yet. However I did feel compelled to see if I could stop sweetie, so before I took off into the sea I headed to adventure Bay.

Scorcher watched as sapphire swam away quickly, she seemed highly disturbed by what just happened. He tried to call and get her to come back but she never turned around.

"Hope you come back soon . ." Scorcher said quietly. It began to get dark with clouds so Scorcher doubted he'll get dry if it rains. He headed off to the town to hide under something and dry off.
