Paw Patrol: Castle of Sand

Chapter 10

"Will..will we ever see you again?" He asked quietly. I was patient, as to not pressure him.

"Cause adventure bay and paw patrol wont be the same without you." he says quietly.

"I think you'll see me somewhere out there doing ocean patrol duties." I said while gesturing out to the adventure bay waters. While it was true I would come back around this area I wasn't sure exactly. Plus i'll be with scorcher, who sails the seas-

"Hold up, didn't scorcher say he found merpup artifacts?" I asked. Rocky was confused as to why I was suddenly asking this but nodded, remembering scorcher mentioning it when they talked earlier while watching sweetie.

"He said he found a few things such as books and statues. Why?" he asked. I then looked for scorcher and wished rocky a good day before leaving while i still had my idea.

Walking the ship of a pirate.. it's not something many merpups do. We were always told to stay away from all of them as they would take you away. but scorcher seemed glad to finally show me the artifacts they found from merpups. A few from the merpup group hung out around the ship. Some concerned, some curious, some both.

I saw the statues of the folklore creatures we kept around my town to keep bad energy out, least that's what I was told they did.

"Some of this would belong greatly back at puplantis." I said looking around.

"Well I'm glad to be of help." Scorcher said with a smile, he gave me a hug as he finished caring for his ship for the night.

"This is why I asked. You might see me while you search the seas for history in the form of artifacts." He nodded and smiled, looking more relieved. I then felt something pat the side of the ship and we all looked over to see the girls from earlier. Scorcher was about to jump in the water to join us but I stopped him.

"Help the paw patrol with rebuilding the lookout, then come to us." I said before jumping into the water, the bright light appearing from under the surface. I waved my tail as a goodbye before I began to speak to the others in my natural tongue as we swam away to puplantis quickly.

I became more fluent in the merpup language quickly again as we swam in the ocean. The group seemed so relieved to have the last of the royal family back as they swam around happily, singing the songs and playing games.

We arrived sooner than expected and the people were estactic to see me. Coral gave me a hug and showed me around puplantis. I saw that for the most part kept the layout of puplantis before it was attacked and it made me feel at home. I saw ryder and the pups help build the ocean patrol lookout on a large floating platfrom. it didnt sway at all in my eyes, so if it did it wasnt by much. while i was in the water i saw sweetie watching us from a boat.

"Can I be a merpup?" She asked. I came up the surface to speak to her. I got water on her coming up cause i saw her rubbing her face to get the seawater out of her eyes.

"Is that what you want? Hop in the water then sweetie!" I said with a smile before jumping in and out of the water in slight excitement. To be honest, I was slightly hesitant but nothing could go wrong, plus she would have a better view of everything like I did. after she jumped in I touched noses with her. She was disgusted by it and rubbed her nose.

"Yuck! Why did you-" She watched as her lower half became a tail with scales the same color as her dark pink vest with light pink lines like the crown on her collar. she gasped with a bright smile and touched her tail, it flinching when she felt her paws. It was pure to me to see this from someone like sweetie, shows she isn't as bad she tries to make herself be.

"Come on sweetie, lets go play!." I said with a smile, as I pulled her paw as she learned to swim with a tail. She got the hang out of it and began to chase after me in a game of tag with other merpups. When me and the others were tired we called it quits and lay in the sand at the bottom of the ocean. The ocean patrol lookout wont be finished till a few days later as it was more advanced, plus ryder wanted to make sure it had everything he thinks we'll need.

"What do you think sweetie? I think it looks nice." I didn't hear sweetie respond and so I looked behind me to her to see her staring at the moon moving out of sight. since we were in the ocean the horizon was non existent to us.

"Wait doesn't merpup magic go away when the moon-" She didn't get to finish as her tail went away and I immediately swam her to the surface as she held the rest of her breath. She breathed just fine once we came up to the surface which wasn't far away. She began to laugh after a while.

"I never thought I would be experiencing this." She said as she watched a blurry image of merpups going into their homes.

"Sweetie, Chase told me what you've done in the past. you have a past, I have a past. And that's okay cause there's the future to change yourself, I see this in you." I then sigh as I remembered what I've done, I wasn't proud, I don't think anyone in my position would be.

"I do thank you. I finally feel more than just a royal pup." She said with a smile.

"How about you join me and scorcher in the ocean patrol? It'll make you more involved in barkingberg's community." i asked as a boat then approached us slowly to pick up sweetie. she needed to be dried off before she gets sick from being in the water too long. It made me sad to see her go but I knew it was for the better.
