A/N: Heya, new chapter 'cause I'm inspired. I don't have too much to say so thx if you're reading this crap.

[Green's POV]

I didn't went to gym, so I accidentally lied to Red. I don't even know why. Let's say I kinda gave up half way. Hopefully he won't search for me.

I've been in this vintage cafe that inaugurated recently in Cerulean's City the whole morning, having some snacks and reencountered a girl named Leaf. She's also a Pokémon Trainer and also played a little bit with me and Red before moving here when we were still kids. That makes us childhood friends too, what's kinda funny, I barely remember our trio.

It was a coincidence, crazy, right?

''Wow, so you... Battled the Elite Four guys and actually defeated them?!''

I nodded and grinned in a conceited way. Her pupils were widdening, she's so surprised.

''But my childhood friend and rival beat me after and took my title.''

''Oh, Red? Tell me more.''

''Exactly. And then he gave up of his title to wait for a stronger trainer to beat him too in Mt.Silver.''

She facepalmed. I knew I wasn't the only who would find this stupid!

''What the actual f...''

''I know, right!? I don't understand him as well!''

We both laughed. I had the impression we would be great friends.

"So, hm, you said Red's back now?"

I tilted up my head, looking at her.

"I think he realized how it was foolish after all."

She opened a smile.

"I think he was missing you."

I looked down, staring to my own intertwined fingers.

No, that's not possible...He came 'cause he lost, someone damaged his pride the way I never got to.

But I can't say that out loud so I'll just say...

"Maybe..."

She took a sip of her cappucino and looked at me.

"You guys even disbanded Team Rocket."

"That's true. It took a little bit of hard work on our both teams but only because we rocked and both of us winned against Giovanni, I'm Viridian's Gym Leader now."

She stopped for some minutes, she was somehow serious this time.

"You should take more easy on Red."

I sighed.

"I'm actually trying to. I even let him sleep in my couch and made him breakfast today."

Leaf stared at me in a comprehensive way.

"I remember you were so close to each other. You'd even get jealous if I spent too much time with Red, heh. You guys seem to be always running away from each other now. Why?"

That was true, I was a kinda possessive best friend. Does Red ever noticed it too?

"But anyway. We should battle. Let's go to your gym and have an official battle, I still don't have Earth Badge and now that I know that YOU are the leader."
