Cloud and Nia

"Hey mom how're you doing?" I asked as I walking into her room.

"Good besides ya know."

  "Yeah..." I say awkwardly not knowing how to respond.

"How's Rain?"

  "I haven't talked to her in a while but, last time I did, she was having a blast she did say that she missed you and loved you though. You should text her check in!" She smiled,

  "I miss her, I really wish it didn't have to be like this. I just don't know how to do that since I basically just sent her away." She said and put her head down, "How's Nia? She hasn't been here in a while."

  "She's doing good, she's been asking about you a lot. If you want, I can give her a call and she can come over."

  "I'd really like that." She said and smiled.

"Let me go call her really quick!" I say and run out of the room and call her, "Hey babe, do you want to come over? My mom was asking about you and she said she'd like to see you." I say into the phone.

"Oh of course! I haven't seen her in a while, I'll be there in fifteen minutes. Love you." She said and hung up the phone and I run back into my parents' room.

"She'll be here in a little bit."

"Okay." she responds smiling, "I'm hungry, will you please go make me a sandwich, baby?" My mom asks.

  "Yeah of course, I'll be right back!" I make the sandwich and go back upstairs, "Here you go." I say and hand it to her.

  "Thank you, sweetie," and she takes a bite, not too long after that the doorbell rings,

"I'm guessing that's Nia." She smiled and I run downstairs to get the door.

"Hey, my mom's upstairs."

"Okay, lets head up there."

"Hey mom." Nia goes and give her a hug.

"Hey, how are you sweetie?" My mom says and you can actually hear the sickness in her voice.

"I've been good, I missed you a lot though!"

  "I missed you too, it's been a while." We sat in my moms room talking for an hour,

  "I'm sorry but, I should really go home. I had a great time catching up!"

  "It was great seeing you again Nia, you should come visit me more often!" She said hugging Nia.

"Of course." Nia smiled and walked out of the room with me following,

"You're welcome to come with me if you want."

"I'd have to ask." I say running back up the stairs, "Hey mom Nia wants to know if I'm able to go with her?"

"That should be fine your dad is downstairs so I'll just call him if I need anything." She smiled and kissed me on the cheek, "Love you Cloud.

"Love you more." I say and run back down the stairs, "Let's go."

"Why'd you want to go so abruptly?" I ask as I open the passenger door for her.

"I just- it's so sad she doesn't deserve this Cloud." She says as tears start rolling down her face.

"I know I don't understand it either it's not fair." I say as I back out of the driveway.

  "I loved talking to her again but I just couldn't, I didn't want to cry in front of her."

"I know it really sucks." I say looking over at her,  "I feel bad for Rain though, that she can't be here I know she wants to be. She's having a great time with Liam and I know it, I also know every time I call her it makes her sad all over again."

"Maybe it's for the best." She says. "How could it be though?"

  "She's with her favorite band, I know her mom's here but at least it gets her mind off of it for a second."

"I guess I get it. I know she probably would rather be here though." I say as we pull into her driveway, "I'm probably going to go back home, I'm going to call Rain. I love you." I say and give her a kiss. She gives me a sympathetic wave as I  pull out of the driveway and I call Rain.

"Hey Cloud!" she says happily.

"How's it going over there? You sound like you're having fun."

  "Yeah, Louis and I were just hanging out."

"Oh, you and Louis huh?" I smile.

"I mean... how's mom?" she says trying to change the subject.

  "She's okay I guess; Nia just came over to see her. I just dropped her off."

"Oh, I miss you guys so much." She says, I can hear her voice drop.

"We miss you too. Mom also told me to tell you she loves and misses you."

  "Thank you Cloud, I needed that right now. I do have to go though; Liam says we're having a game night I don't know but I love you."

"I love you too baby sis." I say and the car went silent, I turned the car off and walked inside and upstairs, "I'm going to head to bed, goodnight."

"love you goodnight." My parents say together.
