chapter 5 - recongised

Jungkook's POV

As I was giving y/n a piggyback ride, she wasn't talking for a minute so I looked behind and she was sleeping peacefully. I didn't know all our talking would make her tired all of a sudden. It has been a long day anyway.

I'm not going to lie, y/n looks cute when she sleeps. Look at her unique and ethereal features!

I think we are almost back at the buffet area. I hope Jennie and Taehyung aren't worrying too much.

As I saw the glimpse of light, I immediently knew that y/n and I returned back to the buffet safely. I walked closer to the dining area and nobody was there.

Then, I realised I had my watch on so I looked at the time and it read '8:32pm'. How long was I lost for? The time I got taken away was around 6pm and I was missing for that long? Time goes by fast.

I didn't want to wake y/n up so I kept her on my back until I return back to our hotel room. She deserves a good night's sleep.

When I returned back to our hotel room, I right then saw Jennie and Taehyung still awake and as they saw me carrying y/n. Their faces dropped. "Jungkook. Tell us at this moment about what happened between you and y/n." Taehyung smirked at me.

"I swear, nothing happened! y/n's legs were aching so I decided to give her a piggyback ride back here!" I got embarrassed and admitted that nothing has happened between me and y/n.

"Oh really?" Jennie was also smirking. "Just admit the truth."

"I am telling the truth! Why would you think I would do such a thing to y/n?" I asked.

Jennie and Taehyung looked at each other with serious faces. "The thing is that.. y/n told me she used to have this childhood best friend," Jennie said.

"And you, Jungkook, told me you also used to have this childhood best friend," Taehyung added. "Remember you told me when you were younger your childhood best friend had to move to y/c/n because of her dad's job?"

"Dad's job? That sounds familiar." I replied.

"You see the connection here? What is some things you recongise about y/n then?" Taehyung questioned me.

"Well from what I remember, y/n had h/c (hair colour) hair and e/c (eye colour) eyes. And.. Her name." I came to a realisation that this girl I am right now carrying is y/n from my childhood!

I could not believe this right now! I have to tell y/n this tomorrow.. So we can spend time together and make it one of the best last few days of our excursion before leaving. I can't wait to see her reaction.

The Next Day
y/n's POV

I woke up to some sounds of light breathing and snoring. I was back in the hotel room. What happened last night? Oh, I remember. I fell asleep on Jungkook as he was carrying me on his back. I felt so bad for Jungkook having to carry me, I hope he doesn't get too mad at what I did.

I looked beside me and there was Jennie with her sleeping face. "Good morning Jennie-ah~" I whispered quietly.

I went to my suitcase and surprisingly it was all set out and my first outfit of the day was already folded out. I think that was Jennie who sorted out my outfit. How did Jennie know that outfit was what I was wearing today? She knows me too well.

I went to the bathroom to do my morning routine as usual; taking a warm shower, putting on my outfit, brushing my teeth, applying makeup, etc.

I checked the time on my phone and it stated '6:01am'. Mrs Smith told us to meet at the buffet for breakfast at 6:45am so I couldn't just get back to sleep.

I decided to go to the hotel rooftop as tourists who stay there say it's a good place to watch the sunrise or to hang out at.

I quietly opened the door so I won't wake up anyone. Then I took the elevator to the rooftop to watch the sunrise, peacefully.

A few minutes later, as I was already at the rooftop and still waiting for the runrise to occur, I felt some arms wrap around my waist. "Good morning y/n."
A familiar voice spoke. I got a bit scared by that sudden action but when I turned around it was.. Jungkook?!

"G-gosh you scared me! Good morning Jungkook." I said. "Why did you hug me, and why are you here this early?

"I came here to tell you something."

How did he know I was coming here? "What did you need to tell me?"

"y/n, did you have any childhood best friend when you were younger?"

"Yep, I did have a childhood best friend when I was younger. Do you too?"

"I also had a childhood best friend when I was younger. She would always cheer me up and make me laugh. We met at the park."

"Really? We also met at the park. The childhood best friend was also a boy. I hope you meet her soon."

"There is no soon." Jungkook got closer to me.

"What do you mean?" I got confused. If she was his best friend, wouldn't he come and visit her?

"That childhood best friend is standing right in front of me right now."

That's when my whole life changed. "K-kookie?" I said. Kookie was the name I used to call my childhood best friend.
"Sunshine?" Jungkook said MY childhood nickname.
"This can't be..." Me and Jungkook said together as the sun rose up.
