"So when is your flight?" Buck questioned his little sister as they got out of the car after getting to the airport.

"Technically, in like three hours. Plus once I get everything checked in I'm probably going to kill my phone texting with my old CO. Make sure everything is set up before I get there. I'll be on another plane back here as soon as I can but I'm not sure how long this is going to take." She admitted.

"I'm sure it'll all be fine. You just have to trust yourself. Make sure that you have everything the way you need it to be." Buck replied wrapping her in a hug.

She felt out of place standing there in her officers uniform for the first time in almost three months. It hadn't even felt like she had been home that long.

And not once had she heard from her parents, but that was to be expected. They were never happy with her decision to join the military, but it was something she would've thought made them proud of her.

She pulled away from Evan and gave him a light punch on the shoulder. "Thanks bro. And tell everyone I'll see them when I get back. We'll go out to celebrate or something. Like when I tell them I've been accepted into the Academy." She paused grinning widely at Evan waiting for her words to sink in.

As her words sunk in with Evan he had a wide smile planted on his face and he hugged her again. "I'm so proud of you." He beamed.

"I'm expecting you not to say anything to anyone. It'll be our secret. I'm trusting you, E."

"Have you not told Maddie?" He asked making her shake her head.

"No. And you won't either."

"I won't. I swear." He held up his hands.

"Promise?" She held out a pinkie. He interlocked one of his with hers and they kissed their thumbs.

"Promise." They hugged once more before he left, leaving Micah by herself.

She went and checked in her things before finding a seat where she stayed until her flight was called. She sent Evan and Maddie a text telling them she was boarding and got a '👌' from Evan as he was getting to work and a 'have a safe trip' from Maddie. She turned her phone to airplane mode and found her seat. It was next to a window and she had the isle to herself.

She walked into an office going to see her JAG attorney the court had appointed to her so soon as she dropped her bag off at her hotel room. She walked up the stairs to needed floor and walked down to a lounge after telling the receptionist who she was there to see and set down. Micah sent a text to her siblings telling them she had landed and was meeting with her lawyer.

She didn't have a chance to see if they would reply as she was called over by a man about her age. She smoothed out her uniform jacket and walked over to the man with her hands placed behind her back. The man stuck out a hand which Micah shook politely before returning her hand behind her back.

"I am Laine Kassidy, I'm your JAG. Of course, you already knew that." The man shook his head to himself and sat behind the desk offering Micah a seat with a hand motion.

"Your reports are very well written. Your an amazing soldier, very by the book, which is something they'll be bringing up in the courtroom. If it continues in the system." Laine said as he wrote on a yellow legal pad. "Your going to have to tell me everything that happened before you came back stateside. I know it isn't going to be pleasant, but it's necessary. I won't record anything but I will take note of what you say. This will stay with me until it is needed in court."

Micah nodded her head and shifted  uncomfortably in her seat.

"Well , it started like any normal routine patrol. We had bomb units and everything, and yet, we still got too close to one and our vehicle got blown up. I was able to pull everyone out but one." She paused thinking of her best friend while trying not to cry. She cleared her throat.
