Recap:
I looked up, saw him turn around and look at me, and he walked up to me. That was when I met him...
-----------------------------------------------
It has been the same schedule for three weeks now and I am getting boring walking the same pathway everyday. I liked excitement in my journeys and this bores me to death, but all that changed when he turn around and started staring at me. Everyone told me that he was bad news and a player, but he didn't act that way and that it how most of this story was created. Although they said all that after I met him.
It was at the beginning of September. I was in the lunch line trying to avoid the friends of the someone that my friendship got ruined with. I kept my head down and looked up every few minutes and moved up whenever the line did. Though one time, when I looked up, I saw a boy staring at me. He looked to be about 13 years of age and his height probably around 5'5. He had brownish-black hair and what looked like green or blue eyes. He was not what I would say fit, but nor was he chubby or fat. I say he was average sized with a very pale complexion.
"Hey," he said suddenly.
"Hi," I replied shyly.
"Your offaly quiet, why is that?" The boy said.
"I do not talk much. I am kinda shy around strangers," I explained to the boy.
"How come?" I think I shall nickname him Questioner. I hesitated for a minute or two before answering.
Though before I could answer, we were interrupted by Drake Baltz and his gang of people who have recently been getting on my nerves. Bad.
"Hey look, there's Bryce's girlfriend, Raza," I heard Drake say
I turned around quickly to face them.
"I am not his girlfriend nor have I ever been. Now leave me alone," I said infuriated with them. I look behind them only to see a embarrassed Bryce.
"Sorry about that. My friends' did something that I shall not say and I am still hearing about it," I explained as I turned back to the mysterious boy.
"It's ok. So why are you so shy?"
"I used to be bullied really bad and now I do not talk much to people because I am afraid of judgement," I say lowly, only loud enough for him to hear.
"That's not right. I should go punch all the boys and crush all the girls that bullied you. I really hate bullies," he said while gesturing with his hands.
We laughed a little.
"No thanks. It is okay now."
"Okay, I'm just saying," he said smiling, making eye contact with me.
"It is fine, really" I said shyly/bashful.
I really did not know why he was being so nice to me, but tis was nice for someone other than my normal friends to notice and talk to me. As you probably know by now I am certainly not very popular and am barely noticed by people. Though it is not as bad as it would seem.
"I'm Dylan by the way" the boy, Dylan, introduced himself.
"I'm Raza, nice to meet you."
"Nice meeting you too. Also, please don't take this wrong, I ask all my friends this so don't be alarmed. Are you ticklish around the ribs?" He asked, curiosity coating his voice.
"Yes...." I answer while crossing my arms around my stomach and ribs.
"Don't worry I'm not gunna try and tickle you today," he chuckled.
Today.....
"Ok," I said as I realized we were now entering the entry way of the part of the kitchen, the second to last step to getting food.
"Here's you a tray, Raza," he said grabbing himself a lunch tray while handing mine to me.
"Thank you," I say taking the one he was passing to me.
We talk until we reach the cash register, said our goodbyes, and made a plan to meet again tomorrow by the cafeteria entry way doors. We went towards different sides of the cafeteria where our different friends sat. He sat with a big group of kinda populars and I sat in a very small group that consisted of one popular, one not so popular and one in between. My ranking is the lowest, the most unnoticed/youngest.
When I got to my table, my friends were staring at me like I was a stranger. I sat eating for a few minutes before I got tired of their staring.
"What?!" I said annoyed at them.
"You were talking to a guy!" My best friend Faith said.
"Yeah, so?"
"You never usually talk to guys at our school for that long!" Exaggerated my other best friend Jessica.
"So, who was he??" Asked my cousin, Molly, who is only a few months older than me.
"His name is Dylan and he is really nice and a gentleman" I said with a shy smile.
"Did you say his name was Dylan?" Jessica said with warning coating her voice.
"Yeah, why?" I asked cautiously.
"I thought I recognized him. Raza, stay away from. He has a bad reputation!", she whisper yelled.
"What? But he is so sweet! He also seemed like a gentleman and besides we are meeting in the lunch line again tomorrow."
"Raza just be careful," I looked around to see the whole group was now giving me warning looks.
"I shall be fine, trust me. I may not always know what I am doing, but you got to live a little. So, there is no need to worry. I promise," I give them a reassuring smile before finishing my meal.
For the past two weeks, Dylan and I have been meeting in the lunch line to hang out.
"Are you going to the homecoming dance next Friday?"  Dylan asked out of the blue.
"Yeah, are you?"
"I might."
"Cool."
"If I do go, would you like to go with me? Like as friends?"
"Sure, sounds fun," I say giving him a smile.
"Great," he smiled back.
That very same day he followed me to my table and to sit by me and my small gang. I was surprised he did that, but I got over it and introduced him to my gang and they seemed to get along fine, which by the way is fudging awesome. Almost everyday since then we would meet in the doorway of the cafeteria, wait in the lunch line together, and then he would come sit with my gang and I.
All throughout the day I couldn't stop thinking of him. Out of all the girls I have seen him around with, he talks to me and hangs around me during lunch. I just can't figure out why though and it's driving me crazy. Why me if he can have any other girl in school?

----------------------------The Monday before the dance-----------------------------

I went in the cafeteria in the morning which is not so usual for me and sat by Dylan, who was at our usual table by the doorway, by himself. When the 1st hour bell rang I walk in the same direction as Dylan because he was going the same way and we were talking when we got to this awkward for me conversation. He stopped me and asked
"Have you told your mom your hanging out with a guy at homecoming?"
"No, not yet," I said kinda in a awkward tone.
"Why not?" he asked smiling with mischief.
"I do not know. She works late and there are not enough hours in the day." I explained and we slowly started walking again.
"Hey Raza?" He asked after a silence of a minute or two.
"Yeah?"
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
'O.M.G!!! Did he just say girlfriend?!?!'
'What am I suppose to say?!'
'I should say yes though'
My thoughts lead me speechless and shocked.
"You can think about it if you want. Just let me know soon, okay?" He said kinda doubtful.
"Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to," I said still in shock.
"Okay see you later." He waved
"Yeah see ya." I waved back
On the way to P.E. I was thinking to myself 'what in the world just happened right then'

-------------------------After 1st and 2nd hour-----------------------------

After the first two classes of the day I have made my decision. When I saw Dylan waiting for me at my locker and I walked up to him.
"Hey," I said as I got in my locker, ready to give him a answer to his question.
"Hey," he said. I couldn't tell his expression on his face.
"Yes," I said out of the blue.
He blinked and then just look surprised, then smiled very big and said 'okay' still smiling big. He walked me to almost all 5 class left in the day and held my hand here and there while we walked.
It was a good day. I am so glad to have met Dylan, and I have a feeling that I always will be.

------------------------------After I got home---------------------------------

When I got home I ran inside and did my homework then came to the living room where my mom was sitting watching tv.
"Mom? Can I talk to you in private?"
"Sure honey."
We came back in my room and sat on my bed.
"Guess what happened today." I said kinda nervous.
"What?"
"So, I met this boy a few weeks ago and we have been hanging out. He asked me to go to homecoming with him as friends and then, today he asked me to be his girlfriend and said that I could think about it. So I did and then told him yes, " I said excitedly yet nervously.
"Is he nice? Have good grades? Is he a good kid?" She asked me all at once
"Yes, yes, yes, and he is also a gentleman."
"Well, good! Now you do know we have to tell your father."
I hesitated for a second but then said "okay."
After we told my dad I went back in my room and started daydreaming about me and Dylan.
-----------------------homecoming week (Wednesday)-----------------------------
It was graffiti day at my school and a lot of people signed my shirt but my favorite one was Dylan name because he put a heart next to it. That day I got thinking about something again.
Why did he pick me, a 7th grader? He's in 8th grade and out of all the 9th graders, 8th graders, and 7th graders he knows. He had chosen the girl in the shadows, the girl that tries so hard to keep herself invisible in school. Why?
I'm so confused. Will I ever know why he wanted me instead of any other girl in school?
And that's pretty much how my suppose to be fun graffiti day went.I had no jokes about Bryce and me from his friends, my thoughts about Dylan in my head and my curiosities.
