"First day, kids! Come on, don't give me that face. I wasn't the one that forced you to come here. You're here, then you're going to do all the things that I have prepared for you. Help your old man, would you?""I'm having second thoughts about this." Jisoo sighed.
"Too late for that." Jennie said while dragging her feet to where the others were gathering.
Mr. Park did a wake up call at 5 in the morning by literally yelling into the speaker the hotel had and did a countdown until all of his students were in the lobby.
Poor other people, thinking it was an evacuation or something.
They had breakfast and Mr. Park insisted on doing a morning exercise to prepare for the activities they had during that day.
And Mr. Park... didn't go very easy.
And now, everyone was already tired and the day hasn't even started yet.
"So today! The first day of this amazing trip, I have prepared an activitiy that will immediately boost your energy for the whole day..."
"Boost... or drain?" You whispered to Namjoon who chuckled quietly.
"... I promised to the principal to make sure you will be very exhausted by the end of this trip," all of the students gulped at that. "But also had fun, of course. I'm going to divide you all into two groups so I'll do a headcount one, two, one, two..."
He finished counting after awhile. "Everyone in group 1 gather to my left side and group 2 to my right!"
Since you were standing next to Namjoon, both of you were separated into different groups. Namjoon sighed but forced a smile. You smiled back.
"It's okay, Joonie. You can survive a few hours without me." You patted his back with a smile of assurance.
He nodded and walked to his group. "I hope so."
You looked at him and shook your head.
'He definitely can't live without me.'
You laughed at cute Namjoon.
"Okay! Group 1! You will be going first. Everyone will have their own canoes. Wait did I mention we are going canoeing? Welp! Now you know so chop chop!" Mr. Park clapped his hands twice.
"WAIT WHAT?" All the students yelled in frustration.
"If I knew we were going to do such activity, I wouldn't have wore a dress! Mr. Park!" A girl whined while grabbing the skirt of her summer dress, wanting to rip it off out of anger.
"Alright, alright, I'm sorry. I should have given you guys some heads up. But hey, doesn't hurt to have some surprises in your boring life, am I right?" Mr. Park did handguns, trying to make the situation better. "Besides, you are just going to sit down most of the part. Your hands do all the work. Alright? Seulgi?"
Seulgi sighed and swallowed her anger and let out a tight smile. "Sure."
"That's the spirit! You see why you guys are my favourite students?-"
"Every student is your favourite, sir."
"-And what's wrong with that? Nothing wrong with loving everyone. Okay, enough talking! I'm paying by the hour so go ahead and grab one for each." Everyone in your group walked to where the place keep the canoes and grabbed a single canoes.
You took one and a long paddle. You tried to stay positive despite being an introvert. You need to get sone sunlight once in awhile. Besides, you were the one that signed up for this so the least you could do was enjoy it.
You walked passed Namjoon with a smile. "Be careful, (Y/N)," he advised. "I don't want to see you get hurt."
You lightly patted his cheeks. "You're so cute when you're protective, Joonie. But I think I'm going to be alright. I'm a big girl."
He blushed at the word 'cute' but immediately shook it off with concern. "I don't know, (Y/N). The water seems a bit too strong." He glanced at the river and you looked at it too.
It was true, the current did look a bit dangerous but you just shrugged it off. "Meh. I guess it's more fun like that. Relax, Joonie. I appreciate your concern but I don't think anything bad will happen. Just try to look over it, yeah? It won't be too long anyway. I'll try to avoid the strong current area, hm?"
You tried to assure him. Namjoon looked down before looking up again with a smile. He nodded, "Alright. But still, be careful."
"I will!" You answered and skipped to where the others were gathering. When you got there, Mr. Park had a knowing look. You rolled your eyes. "Shut up."
He raised both of his hands in surrender and chuckled. "Alright, kids. So here's what you gotta do..."
He explained and demonstrated the way to use a canoe. Seemed pretty simple enough. All of you went to the water and tried it.
It wasn't too bad. It wasn't bad at all. But Mr. Park did warn about the current. He said that whatever they do, do not get near the current. And honestly, that was the most serious Mr. Park has ever been.
The current did seem pretty far away so none of the students were worried. All of you started to paddle around the area.
"Be careful, (Y/N)! Your boyfriend's worry about you!" Mr. Park laughed.
You growled under your breath.
Maybe you'll push him into the current and see how he'll laugh at that.
