Destiny
It's been a month and everything seems to be going great. I no longer have the feeling of being watched anymore. Every day that Rashad is at work, I have my mother or one of my aunts with me. I went ahead and filed the restraining order against Trevor and Sharese. As much as I didn't want to, I knew it needed to be done. If I continued to let people in who obviously don't want to be in my life, I will be the only one getting hurt in the end.Today was Rashad's day off so we decided to just lounge around all day. I looked down at Carmen and Charisma as they crawled around the floor babbling to each other in a language that only they understood.
"What are you thinking about?" Rashad asked while he ran his hands through my hair as I laid on his lap.
"Just thinking about how blessed we are. We have two beautiful healthy daughters. We found each other after I thought I would have to be a single mother of twins. Things are finally going back to normal around here. I haven't heard from Trevor or Sharese, which is good and bad since we haven't seen Raymond. But that will change once you go to court next month. Things are finally going our way for once." I replied with my eyes closed and a smile on my face.
Rashad leaned down and kissed me on my forehead. "Yea they are love. It can't get no better than this."
"I just--" I began but his phone began to ring.
"It's work."
"Why are they calling at 8 at night?" I asked curiously.
"I don't know but I have to take this." Rashad said as he stood up and walked to the kitchen for a little quietness.
I laid there with a smile still present on my face. I was loving my life right now.
"Baby?" Rashad said as he walked back into the room.
"What's up love?" I replied finally opening my eyes looking at Rashad's face. He had a look of worry written across it.
"That was the security at the pharmaceutical company. Someone set the first floor on fire and since my father is out of town, I have to go to see the damage and call the insurance company."
As much as I wanted to pout about him leaving us, I knew it was business first. "Wow that's crazy. Do they have any idea who may have done it?" I asked.
"No but they are going over the surveillance now to see if they can come up with something. I want you to call someone to come stay with you while I'm gone."
"I'm sure nothing will happen baby." I replied. Things had been going good with no disturbances for a month so why worry?
"Just to be on the safe side please call someone over D."
I sighed and gave in."Ok. Call me when you get settled and let me know what's going on at the company."
"Ok baby." Rashad said as he leaned down and kissed me.
He picked up both of the twins and started kissing back and forward on both of their faces which earned him an eruption of laughter from them.
"Bye my beauties, I love you." He said with a final kiss on both of their cheeks. "Call me if you need me Destiny, I'm serious."
"Ok baby, be careful, love ya, bye!" I yelled as he walked out the door.
I looked at my daughters staring up at me with adoring smiles on their faces. "Well my darlings, it's just y'all and me. Let's get y'all fed and bathed." I said as I picked them up one by one. They clapped and laughed like they knew what I was talking about.
