Sharese
I just want to know how you could keep this from me Sharese? We were suppose to be like sisters and you couldn't even tell me you had a child? That's fucked up on so many levels. Rashad said it's suppose to be his child but you never told him about it either. And what about you leaving my apartment to go sleep with him? He's right, you nothing but a hoe. I'm more hurt than mad. Don't worry about staying here with me. I can take care of my daughters by myself. You need to call me back and explain some shit to me or this friendship is over.
I cried as I listened to the voice mail Destiny left me. I know I was wrong for not telling her but I just didn't want to be judged. Destiny was always Ms. Perfect and I was the one getting into crazy shit. I decided the conversation we needed to have needed to be face to face. I finished making breakfast for Raymond and as he ate I pulled out clothes for him to wear. I was going to take him with me. Part of breaking out of this lie I have been living, is to actually go out with my son. I want to walk around showing everyone that I am proud to be his mother.
As we headed to Destiny's house I got nervous. What if she didn't accept my apology for being a terrible friend. I would be devastated but I can't blame nobody but myself. I parked in front of her apartment building and turned around to Raymond, who was taking on his surroundings.
"Ok Ray, we're going to Aunt Destiny's house. Are you going to be good?" I asked.
Even though no one knew about Raymond, I made sure he knew about those closest to me. I would show him pictures of people so that when the time came that I decided to tell everyone about him, he would adapt easily to 'new' people.
He nodded his little head yes and gave me his million dollar smile that always makes my heart melt. I helped him out of his booster seat and we made our way to Destiny's apartment. I knocked on the door and waited for a response. I was nervous that Destiny wouldn't even open the door for me.
"Who is it?" She yelled.
"Sharese," I said. I heard shuffling around behind the door before it was yanked open with Destiny standing on the other side with a scowl on her face.
"Aunt Destiny!" Raymond yelled as he ran and hugged Destiny's leg.
She looked shocked but she bent down and hugged him.
"Destiny this is Raymond. My son. I was just wondering if we could talk."
Destiny shook her head yes before looking back to Raymond.
"How would you like to play with some toys and watch cartoons Raymond?" She asked. He looked up at her and gave her his million dollar smile and nodded his head yes. She took him to the back and set up everything in her room for him to get comfortable and then made her way back to me in the living room.
"Aunt Destiny?" She asked. I knew Destiny would wonder how Raymond knew who she was.
"I always showed him pictures of you and since you were like a sister to me, I told him you were his aunt. Look, I'm not going to beat around the bush. I know I fucked up big time with this but I am so sorry Destiny. I just didn't want to be judged by you or anyone else. I wanted to tell you so many times but I was always so scared of how you would react. You were always so perfect and I was always getting into something to further complicate my life. I do not regret my son at all because he is honestly the best thing that happened to me. I just regret keeping him a secret." I looked at her waiting on a response.
"First off I am not perfect. I mean look at me. I had a one night stand that resulted in not one, but two babies. You were suppose to be my best friend Sharese. Best friends don't keep secrets this big from each other. I would not have judged you at all. I would have been there for you to help you out with Raymond. I'm just hurt because I thought you were my friend. Rashad called me going off on me because he thought we were plotting on him to have kids so we could take his money. I do not like being put in that situation especially since I didn't even know what was going on at the time. I had to find out from him about your son when I should have known all along. You are really trifling for keeping his son away from him. That boy is his damn twin! I don't understand why women got to be so secretive and hold children from their fathers for years and then pop up out of the blue claiming the man is the daddy. I honestly don't know if I can stay friends with someone like that."
I was in tears by the time Destiny finished speaking and so was she. I really had messed up this time. I knew I had just lost my best friend. Destiny is very stubborn when it comes to things like this. If she ever feels betrayed by someone, she will cut them off with the quickness.
"Destiny please don't say that. I need you now more than ever. I will do anything to make it up to you. Anything. Just please, please, please don't stop being my friend." I couldn't stop crying at this point. I knew I messed up but I didn't want to lose my best friend.
She came over and hugged me. That's what I liked about Destiny. Even when she was mad as hell at you, she couldn't stand by and watch someone cry. She always had to comfort them.
She sighed." Look, I want to be your friend but I just don't know if I can trust you anymore. You have to gain your trust back with me. But since you said you would do anything to make it up to me, how about watching the girls tonight. I got a date." She said smiling.
I wiped my tears and laughed at her. "Who you got a date with, Rashad?" I asked curiously.
"Girl no, Dr. Owens." She said smiling
"Trevor? Man you got a date with his sexy ass?" I asked, happy that we were talking like we use to.
"Yep, and while I'm thinking of Rashad, you need to call him cause yall gotta talk about Raymond. But let me ask you this. Did you really leave my place the other day with Rashad to have sex with him?"
My heart stopped. "He told you?" I asked.
"Yea, so did you?"
There was no use in lying now. "Yea I did leave with him but nothing happened. We talked for most of the time."
"Do you know how disrespectful that is? I could care less about y'all hooking up but don't disappear on me to fool around with my baby daddy. Well hell, I guess technically he your baby daddy too. Just do that when yall aren't around me. So I guess technically Raymond is Carmen and Charisma's brother. Man we on some Jerry Springer type shit." Destiny said laughing.
I laughed too. "Yea you right. Friends?" I asked looking at her.
"Yea, you know I can't stay mad at you long. Yo ass aint slick either. You knew that crying was gon get to me and make me forgive you quicker."
I burst out laughing. "Yea you got me on that one but I really did mean everything I said. I really am sorry about all of this but from here on out, no more lies and secrets."
She was about to respond when there was a knock on the door.
Destiny went to the door and asked who was it.
"Rashad." He yelled.
She looked back at me before opening the door.
Rashad walked in the house and didn't notice me yet. "Look Destiny, I apologize for the way I came at you yesterday. I was out of line for calling you a hoe and I just wanted.." He stopped once he finally realized I was in the room. I looked at his eyes and they went from a bright Hazel to black as night. I saw so much hate in his eyes and i knew he was about to snap.
Authors' Note: Update! So do you think that Destiny forgave Sharese too easily? What do you think Rashad is going to do? You don't think he would put his hands on her do you? Comment and Vote!
