Spreading Christmas Cheer

On the seventh day of Christmas...

"I want you to meet some of my friends" Annie said while getting in the car. "Well don't we have an eventful day" Asher put the car into gear and pulled out the parking lot. "Well yeah. We have to keep your mind off the things we shall not name"

"Thanks for being so nonchalant" Asher laughed. "Here, give me your phone so you know the directions" Asher hands Annie his phone from his pocket. "So were just gonna show up unannounced?"

"Well duh Ash. I always do that" Annie put in the Isaak's address then set it up to where Asher could see. "Thirty minutes Annie?"

"What? I forgot he lived so far" she smiled.

They drive took thirty minutes of course, not to Asher's liking. "So who are these friends I'm meeting?" Asher asked as they both got out the car. "It's Isaak's house, but everyone is always over here" Asher grabbed Annie's hand as they went up to the door.

She opened it, knowing that he doesn't lock his door during the day. "Isaak! Where are you?!" Annie said not seeing anyone downstairs. "Annie!" Bryce ran down the step hugging her.

"Were so glad you could make it" Bryce looked over at Asher. "Who's this?"

"This is Asher. Asher meet Bryce Xavier" Asher casually waved his hand. "Well come on. We're all chilling upstairs" Annie followed Bryce up the stairs and into Isaak's room. "Annie!" Everyone screamed at once.

"Aren't you famous" Asher said closely to Annie, laughing. "Ash, this is Kenzie, Isaak, Lucas, Hayden, Mandla, Dylan, and her brother Caden. Everyone, this is Asher" Annie said gesturing to everyone.

Once again Asher just smiled casually. "Sit down, relax. We were just playing a game of truth or kiss" Asher sat on the bean bag chair as Annie followed. Everyone else scattered across the room.

"Well that just have been awkward, seeing as that there's a lot more girls than boys" Isaak laughed. "Oh, you don't want to know" everyone else laughing with him.

"Okay, serious time now guys. Who's next?"

"Caden was asking Mandla" Riley answered. "Right, Okay. Mandla...what's the worst thing you've ever done?" Mandla huffed. "Great, and i dont want to end up kissing another guy so I'll just answer"

Asher looked at Annie surprised. "Yeah, their really extreme"

"I guess, it would have to be when I dated three girls at the same time. And they were sisters. Then when I was caught, I did it with their mom" The boys screamed. "What the hell?" Dylan asked. "Are you serious?"

"Hella serious"

"This is so gross, what is wrong with you guys" Dylan stated. "We're boys, it's what we do"

"Shut up Caden" Asher's phone starts ringing a second later. "Uh, I'll be right back" he said to everyone in the room once reading that the screen said 'mom' he got up from the bean bag and walked out into the hall.

Annie followed him, since she read his screen too. Asher put the phone to his ear and not even seconds later he was breaking down. "The hell? I thought it was only a week? Mom?! No, I'm not okay with this..." Annie's face tensed seeing how hurt he looked.

"Mom...please. Don't do this"

"My life? I still want to be with you guys. You're my family for Christ's sake. How could you say that?"

"...wow. Yeah, I'll be just peachy" Asher said hanging up and walking down the stairs. Annie followed, seeing him go out the door and running after him.

"Ash..?" She stops at the doorstep as Asher put his hands on his car with his head down. "Asher? Is everything okay?" She knew that was a stupid question but asked if anyways. Asher his the hood of his car and turned around, trying to relax himself after seeing Annie jump at his actions.

"Talk to me Ash" Annie said getting closer. "It's nothing..nothing that matters anyway" Annie continues to walk to him. "You were on the phone with your mom, so I think it does matter"

"Why do you care? Its not your life, so just leave it alone" Asher put his head down when Annie stopped in front of him. "Because, I care about you. And I want you to be okay"

"Well I'm not going to be okay. My mom just told me she's not coming back. And that I need to get my fucking life together if I want to see them again" Annie's face went soft as Asher's hands gripped tighter on his car.

"I can help you, if you let me" Asher released his grip on the car. "I'm not broken! I don't need to be fixed! Stop treating me like a broken toy!" Annie flinched back. "I-i..I'm sorry"

"No, your not. You think if there's nothing for you to do, you should work on someone until their left at the beginning, where they started off in the first place. Well I'm not taking that shit, I can fight my own battles"

"But you shouldn't have to, I care about you Ash.." Asher hit his car. "How?! You barely even know me! I'm not to be loved Annie! So just go!"

"Ash please?"

"Just leave me alone, go!" Annie was in shock, so she didn't move. "Fine. I'll go" Asher removed himself from Annie's sight once getting in his car and driving off.

When Annie recollected herself, she went back upstairs. "Hey, where's Asher?" Kenzie asked. "He uh..had to do something" Annie lied as she sat back down on the bean bag chair.

"Man, that suck. Guess he has to miss out on the s'mores we're getting ready to make"

Annie frowned but spoke under her breath. "Yeah...I guess"
