Break? Heck Yea!
I had just finished my last final for my first half of senior year, and I couldn't be any happier. I dropped the pencil and walked over to Mrs. Elliot's desk. I slammed it down on the desk on top of the others. Mrs. Elliot looked up at me and gave the glare of death. She had not liked me since the school year began, but she ended the day with my class.
I walked back to my desk and sat back down. Looking around, I noticed that most of the other students were also done. I looked up at the clock on the wall and it was 5 till 3. I had five minutes before my Christmas break began.
The bell rang. I got out of my desk and quickly grabbed my stuff. I ran to my locker and grabbed my backpack. I then ran out to my car where I met my two best friends, Bethanie and Taylor. Bethanie was the most quirky out of all of us. She was probably about 5'1, and was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. She had red hair and she always dressed so nicely. Taylor, was also quirky, but she had some of her own quirks. She was a fan girl, and was also about 5'1. She was blonde and was known as the sweetest girl in our whole high school.
Taylor drove to school just like me, and somehow had managed to get the parking spot next to me. Bethanie was getting in the passenger side of the car, and she looked at me and smiled.
" Have a great break, I can't wait to see you on New Year's Eve!" said Bethanie.
"Thank you! Back at you!" I replied as I got in my car and slammed the door shut.
I drove away thinking that this was going to be a normal break, but I had no idea what was about to come.
Work? Sure, Why Not.
I drove to work. I work at a 5 star pizza place called Edwardo's Pizza. Edwardo Mitchell started this business when he was 33, and he is now 45. I have worked here for 2 years. I walked in and saw Bethanie instantly. She had her server uniform on and was taking tables. I went to the POS system in the front and clocked in. I walked into the kitchen and saw Edwardo working on a pizza.
"It's about time you got here! We have been busy since school let out! I had to fire Josh. " screamed Edwardo from across the kitchen.
"Josh Dally?" I asked.
"Yes, he called in and told me he hated me and my management style. So, I just fired him." replied Edwardo.
"Oof. Rip in the chat for that guy." I replied.
I grabbed the apron off the hanger, and I grabbed dough. I threw the pizza sauce on it, and laid some pepperoni on it. Then I cheesed it and threw it in the oven. After a few hours of making pizza, Bethanie walked in.
"How was school today Zane?" asked Edwardo.
"Oh, you know, the same as always." I smiled and looked at Bethanie.
"What about you Bethanie?" asked Edwardo.
"Well, I finished my first last round of finals." replied Bethanie.
"That's awesome! Do you guys know what you want to do when you are out of school?" asked Edwardo as he pulled a loaded supreme pizza out of the oven.
"I am going to the community college here in town to get my business degree. I am then going to become an entrepreneur, I also want to get a criminal justice degree on the side and become a private investigator " I replied.
"I am going to Willow University to become a teacher in special education." replied Bethanie and then she turned and walked out of the kitchen.
"Awesome! You guys are going to go places in life. So let me get this straight, you want to open two businesses?" asked Edwardo.
"Yes." I replied as I hung up my apron.
"Closing Time! Thank you all for your help! I will see you all tomorrow night!" screamed Edwardo.
