Moonjou // Moonwatcher x Kinkajou

Not much to say for an introduction, but both of us like this ship!

Moonjou, while not the most popular ship with Moonwatcher, still I think deserves recognition. I want to discuss some of the arguments against it, as well as my reasoning for supporting this ship, even if it is not quite my all-time favorite. And yes, I'll be ignoring the argument that "there is no proof either of them like dragons of the same sex."  

Someone may argue that these two don't spend enough time together, or that their relationship is strictly platonic. And yes, while in canon, they have a very nice platonic relationship, it could be interpreted otherwise. 

Although Moon found Kinkajou somewhat overbearing at first, the two became very good friends, as Kinkajou was able to break through her whole shy attitude, and actively searching for her to spend time with her because Kinkajou enjoys her company, even despite Moon's lack of responsiveness particularly in book 6. 

 And if one argues that they don't have a lot of interactions, I have to disagree. They spend almost all the journey together, and are almost always close near each other to help each other out. 

 Their relationship panned out really nicely throughout the books, and even despite the rocky start of Moon not being quite sure what to do with Kinkajou, they grew really close. 

Overall, a good ship. The content for these two is always super adorable, and what else can I say? Two lesbians who just wanna chill (and date in their free time). What more do you want?

moonjou is another one of the more popular non canon ships. it's personally one of my fave wof ships, because it's just,,, really cute and i've shipped it for quite a long time. 

in terms of canon moments between these 2, there are plenty, especially during a lot of parts of book 6. moon and kinkajou are literally best friends, and they've been shown to care for each other greatly as well as moon getting really emotional when kinkajou is in danger, and vice versa. they've got such positive interactions and I love em. 

 their dynamic is also really cute too. the "introvert x extrovert" trope is one of my favourite ship dynamics (if done correctly, that is) and these two would manage to pull it off really nicely. 

 it's a shame it didn't become canon. it's my second favourite moonwatcher ship, right behind turtlewatcher, and is probably my favourite ship for kinkajou. I dont have much else to say other than these 2 are just really soft and wholesome and I wish there was more fan content of them.
